We are looking for a Senior Gameplay Engineer with experience building game systems and workflows to empower a talented, collaborative team to deliver exceptional player experiences. As Senior Gameplay Engineer, you will work closely with other departments to build the systems and tools necessary to bring our games to life. You understand balancing rapid prototyping and iteration with long-term planning and technical design. You have a knack for discussing trade-offs with your teammates and finding creative solutions for the problem at hand. You find satisfaction in serving as a force multiplier for others, delivering robust interfaces that give our creative teams the power and flexibility they need to explore a large possibility space. You pride yourself in building game systems that are stable, performant, and predictable. As a part of our engineering team, you will contribute to a culture of collaborative problem-solving, technical excellence, and continuous education and improvement.

Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with other departments to define requirements for game features and systems.
    • Design, build, maintain, and optimize various game features and systems.
    • Support designer workflows by designing, building and maintaining tools and documentation around game features.
    • Implement networking strategies for game features that balance the player experience with correctness and security.
    • Debug and fix various gameplay issues.

Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience as a gameplay engineer.
    • Excellent C/C++ programming and debugging skills.
    • Strong 3D math skills.
    • Strong understanding of how to design systems for high performance on modern hardware.
    • Experience working with networked game simulations and modern networking paradigms.
    • Excellent communication skills.
Compensation: We believe that a team that builds together wins together. Because of that, our compensation packages consist of competitive industry standard base salaries and an annual bonus. For this specific role, the base salary range is $170,000 to $220,000, with the final salary offered dependent on job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and internal equity.
