Job Description

The Senior Integrated Planning role for EMEA Lease at Microsoft involves overseeing the planning, scheduling, execution, and delivery of large-scale datacenter construction projects. Responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, managing cross-functional teams, monitoring project risks, and working with clients to meet expectations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in datacenter design and construction, proven project delivery success, and strong leadership and communication skills. This role requires managing multiple projects, improving processes, providing regular updates, and working collaboratively with various teams to achieve organizational goals. This position requires managing medium-to-large scale ($50MM - $200MM+) capital projects in construction, oil, gas, or chemicals (or related process industry).
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • Extensive experience in planning/scheduling (P6 or MS Project)
  • Experience in design and construction project management
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time
  • Excellent understanding of Project Planning and Earned Value Management
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing teams and working collaboratively
Good to have:
  • Experience in Datacenter design and construction
  • Deep knowledge of Primavera P6
  • Strong experience with Risk Schedule Analysis

As a CO+I EPC Integrated Planner for AI Lease, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Deep experience in planning/scheduling utilizing scheduling software (P6 or MS Project)
  • Extensive years of experience in design and construction project management.
  • Extensive years of experience in planning medium sized capital projects ($50MM - $200MM+) in construction, oil, gas or chemicals (or related process industry).
  • Proven track record of delivering medium-to-large scale construction projects on time and to the satisfaction of clients.
  • Excellent understanding of Project Planning, Earned Value Management and Key Commodity Tracking.
  • Demonstrated skills in project planning software, such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
  • Strong familiarity with CPM scheduling methodology
  • Ability to analyze EPC plans/schedule and provide deep insights into trends, issues, mitigations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to self-direct work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in managing teams and working collaboratively with cross-functional groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Datacenter design and construction.
  • Deep knowledge of Primavera P6 and other schedule health analysis tools
  • Strong experience with Risk Schedule Analysis
  • Ability to present data from a detailed to high-level depending on audience.

Responsibilities

As an individual contributor you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, execution, and delivery of large-scale datacenter construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in datacenter design, procurement, and construction, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and to the satisfaction of clients. The role requires exceptional leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.

 

Planning

  • Develop and oversee continuous improvement of detailed project plans, including timelines, and resource requirements, for large-scale datacenter construction projects.
  • Manage cross-functional teams inside and outside Microsoft, including engineers, procurement, and construction to ensure project milestones are met and deliverables are completed on time.
  • Monitor project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential issues.
  • Work with clients to understand their needs and ensure project outcomes meet their expectations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

 

Project Management

  • Proactively manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that each project meets its objectives and is delivered on time.
  • Continuously improve project management processes and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide regular project updates to senior management and other stakeholders.
