Creator tools can refer to a suite of software applications, platforms, and technologies specifically designed to enhance the creative process for filmmakers and production teams. These tools can range from internal solutions developed by Netflix to third-party software that is integrated into a production workflow. The primary purpose of these tools is to streamline various aspects of content creation, from pitch-to-play, making the creative process more efficient, collaborative, and innovative.

The Mission

Lead the deployment and scaling of creator tools at Netflix. This includes planning, market analysis, operational frameworks, risk management, and communication strategies to ensure successful adoption and implementation across different regions and productions.

Strategic Responsibilities

Technology & Operations Leadership

  • Define, prioritize, and scale technology requirements to ensure timely delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Build strong connections with product, technology, and title-facing teams to ensure a tight product feedback loop and high-quality feature launches.

  • Promote an innovative mindset leveraging advanced technologies, such as AI-enabled tools, to enhance production workflows and decision-making.

Business Planning

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape go-to-market plans, translate them into clear priorities, and develop resource allocation and change management plans.

  • Identify and address operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

  • Lead key leadership activities, including meetings, business reviews, and team offsites, to drive alignment and efficiency.

Customer and Partner Experience

  • Focus on improving the customer and partner experience through measurable improvements.

Utilize Metrics to Run Efficient Operations

  • Define and understand performance metrics, executing analyses to deliver operational intelligence and actionable insights.

  • Proactively identify business-critical issues and opportunities to improve tool deployment, balancing short and long-term business needs.

  • Provide regular executive-level reporting.

Communicate with Poise & Clarity

  • Maintain composure and clarity in dynamic situations, and develop a communication framework for real-time feedback from users and collaborators.

Tactical Responsibilities

Lead Support Operations Team

  • Create a framework and execution plan for operationalizing creator tools, ensuring operational processes for product roll-out, adoption, and support are clearly defined, scoped, and meet business expectations.

  • Oversee operations dashboards, monitor health of systems, and stay informed of product development roadmaps.

  • Participate in user acceptance testing for major feature releases.

  • Monitor channels for inbound issues, assess impact, and escalate as necessary.

  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, escalating to engineering teams when needed.

  • Track progress and keep users informed, authoring post-mortem documents for major issues.

  • Identify top recurring issues for Product & Tech teams to remediate.

Capacity Planning

  • Translate production demand into actionable capacity plans and ensure timely resource allocation.

  • Analyze and model data to enhance operational efficiency as products and hardware architecture initiatives evolve.

Documentation

  • Develop an Operations Handbook and Support Runbook in partnership with Product Success, handling exceptions and establishing recovery pathways.

Team and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ensure cohesive collaboration within the team and with cross-functional partners

  • Manage the team to achieve milestones and deliver on project plans and roadmaps.

  • Align stakeholder needs and provide visibility into operational plans and performance.

Qualifications & Skill-Sets

  • 10+ years of experience in content production, including roles in production/post, technology, and workflow optimization.

  • Proven ability to influence without authority to create a cohesive and efficient production organization.

  • Self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities with attention to detail.

  • Proactive and positive thinker, exercising good judgment and initiative.

  • Innovator and strategic thinker with a passion for driving technical innovation in production.

  • Success in creating cross-functional workflows and processes for visibility and efficiency.

  • Excellent communicator, capable of creating effective presentations and managing change.

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity within a matrixed organization and partnering with stakeholders.

  • Functional knowledge of data gathering and leveraging across the production lifecycle.

  • Proven track record of innovation, initiative, and implementation of new strategies.

  • Experience working with diverse teams and managing custom software development projects.

  • Strong organizational skills, proactive mentality, and willingness to travel for work.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $210,000 - $525,000.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
