Job Description

NXP is seeking an experienced Export Control and Sanctions professional to manage its Global Export Compliance program worldwide. The role involves providing strategic leadership, guiding cross-functional teams on international laws and regulations (such as the Export Administration Regulations), and building relationships with government agencies. The individual will stay updated on trade compliance changes, implement global training programs, and continuously improve compliance practices. Responsibilities also include developing strategies and implementing trade compliance IT tools, establishing operating policies, interpreting policies, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. A thorough understanding of trade compliance and ERP systems is essential.
Must have:
  • 8+ years of experience in Export Control and Sanctions
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
  • Knowledge of IT tools for trade compliance and ERP systems
Good to have:
  • Experience building relationships with government agencies
  • Experience implementing global trade compliance training programs
  • Experience developing strategies and implementing trade compliance IT tools

Job Details

Job Summary:

Export Control and Sanctions professional, responsible for the management of NXP’s Export Compliance program as it pertains to Global Export Compliance laws and regulations around the world.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for export control activities around the world.
  • Work with cross functional teams around the world to provide guidance and interpretation of country laws and regulations (Export Administration Regulations EAR, etc.).
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies as required (licensing agencies, customs agencies, etc.)
  • Stay informed of laws and regulations changes relating to trade compliance and the impact to the NXP and its businesses world-wide compliance program.
  • Implement global trade compliance training programs for all business functions.
  • Continuously seek to improve the NXP’s global trade compliance practices to share best practices and to attain core competence.
  • Develop strategies, design, and implement trade compliance IT tools.


Job Level Specifications:  

  • Establish operating policies and procedures that impact the export compliance program.  
  • Interpret enterprise-wide export control and sanctions policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates frequently with internal and/or external customers.
  • Coordinate efforts between functional areas and/or members of an extended assignment/project team.
  • Thorough understanding of technology tools, including trade compliance systems and ERP systems.  


Work Experience:

  • 8+ years including 3+ years of management experience in Export Control and Sanctions. 


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
