Your New CNN Role…

The Senior Producer is responsible for leading the programming strategy for video on CNN’s core platforms including desktop web, mobile web, mobile apps and TV apps, as well as third-party platforms that support our video business (TikTok and YouTube). The Senior Producer collaborates with video leadership in the development of long-term strategies and relationships. They work with partners within the org to elevate video content for digital audiences using data and insights to inform decisions. This position is responsible for managing direct reports in their career advancement and growth. This role is based out of our Hong Kong office, and will focus on serving our domestic and international audiences on digital platforms.
The Daily...
Programs both core platforms and off-platform accounts, monitors content performance, and uses real-time data to adjust tactics that deliver on business goals
Leads collaboration with global programming team to develop tactics
Collaborates with video leadership to develop long-term strategies and relationships
Partners with correspondents and reporters to share performance insights that help inform creative decision making and story-telling choices for digital audiences
Works alongside domestic and international news desks to influence and inform news gathering decisions based on digital video audience insights and learnings
Can pitch, develop, and execute programming tactics and ideas independently
Communicates network and video programming priorities with team
Leads conversations with the team that encourage innovation and growth
Qualifications & Experience…
Four-year college degree. Journalism degree preferred
7+ years producing/writing/editing in a major news market
1-2 years experience managing others
Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or similar editing system
Ability to analyze data and share insights to inform editorial decision-making
Excellent communication skills, news judgment and headline-writing skills
Ability to lead during breaking news situations
Ability to independently make editorial decisions while programming core platforms
Conveys spirit of teamwork, positive attitude (eager, energetic, team-oriented)
Flexibility (can deal with rapid changes in news, adapt to breaking news, and handle several tasks at once)
Must be able to adapt to a 24h/7 days a week news environment
Must be able to work shifts at all times of day and night
