Senior Linux Network Software Engineer 

Adelaide, South Australia

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Network team, you will be instrumental in designing and developing software and systems to enable and orchestrate our cutting-edge software-defined network systems, supporting PlayStation's global network and datacenters.

This new role focuses on building specialised capabilities within the intersection of networking and software engineering, collaborating closely with network architecture, engineering, and platform teams. You'll help shape high-quality services that provide robust protection, high availability and seamless performance for games distributed globally, including services offered to partner studios.

While not working directly on game engines, you'll contribute to the critical infrastructure that underpins the gaming ecosystem, ensuring the global network operates at its best. This is an opportunity to dive into the intersection of software and networking at the highest level, taking on complex challenges to enhance how games are delivered and played worldwide.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience Minimum of 10 years of relevant development experience

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong understanding and prior work with Linux networking
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes network primitives
• Strong understanding of network overlay and tunneling mechanisms
• Experience with Kubernetes & Kubernetes Networking
• Experience with Internet routing concepts
• Proven experience with C, Rust and Golang and other languages
• Experience with identifying & troubleshooting network performance issues on both Linux and network devices
• Previous experience with game networking advantageous
• Previous experience with load balancing technologies
