Job Description

Nielsen's Digital SDK team seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build services and UIs supporting complex entitlement needs for web applications. This role involves integrating the application with various systems, creating user-friendly APIs for the frontend, writing unit and integration tests, developing automation tools, managing scalable cloud systems, optimizing application performance, and developing automated tests. Collaboration with frontend developers, stakeholders, and QA is crucial. The engineer will recommend system solutions, comparing custom development and purchased alternatives. The position is part of a global team spanning the US and India, focused on content measurement within Nielsen's Audience Measurement division.

About the role

You’ll be working within the DIgital SDK teams which span from the US till India. This group is responsible for building our SDKs for content measurement as part of Nielsen’s Audience Measurement. Your specific team will be responsible to build services and UIs to support our complex entitlement needs for our current and future web applications.
As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for the system to work behind the scenes. Your role will be to integrate the application with all required systems and services and provide clean and easy to use API for the frontend part of the system.

Responsibilities

Work closely with frontend developers to design and develop functional, robust APIs to support internal and customer needs
Write both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasks
Develop high quality, well documented, and efficient code
Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud
Optimize internal and external applications for performance and scalability
Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and write both unit and integration tests
Communicate regularly with stakeholders, project managers, quality assurance teams, and other developers regarding progress on long-term technology roadmap
Recommend systems solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchased alternatives
