Job Description

As a Sr. AWS Sales Engineer at Rackspace Technology, you'll drive cloud adoption for California state government clients. Partnering with sales teams and clients, you'll deliver technical excellence, gather customer requirements, showcase the value of AWS and Rackspace, and apply technical solutions to critical missions. Responsibilities include selling AWS to state agencies, driving business, documenting solutions, focusing on public cloud with private cloud opportunities, and ensuring a 'fanatical' customer experience. The role involves significant interaction with state agencies and requires strong AWS skills, exceptional communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Travel within California is expected (10-20%).

8+ years front-facing technical customer experience
4+ years working with state agencies
Strong AWS skills
Excellent communication (written & verbal)
Ability to manage multiple tasks

Job Summary: As our AWS Sales Engineer you’ll truly provide a fanatical experience to our customers. You'll be instrumental in driving cloud adoption to our customers. You’ll be partnering with our sales teams, clients, and industry leaders to deliver technical excellence.

Work Location: This role may work remotely within a one drive from the city of Sacramento, CA.

Travel: 10%-20% mostly within the state of California.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with our AWS Sales Representative to sell AWS specifically to the state government of California.
Gather customer requirements.
Teach the value of AWS and Rackspace.
Provide critical missions to state agency and apply technical solutions to their needs.
Drive business and document Solutions.
Simultaneously be focused on public cloud and opportunistic on private cloud.

Qualifications

Minimum of eight years of front facing technical customer resource. For example solution architecture.
Minimum of four years working with state agencies.
Ability to excel in a fast paced highly competitive environment.
Ability to be flexible not have tunnel vision… ability to juggle multiple tasks at once.
Strong AWS skills.
Strong writing and speaking skills with the English language.

The anticipated starting pay range for California, New York City and Washington is: $148,400-$261,030.

Unless already included in the posted pay range and based on eligibility, the role may include variable compensation in the form of bonus, commissions, or other discretionary payments. These discretionary payments are based on company and/or individual performance and may change at any time.
