Job Description

ByteDance is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join its Global E-commerce Open Platform team, focusing on building and integrating e-commerce solutions for TikTok Shop in the US. The role involves developing highly scalable and secured services, optimizing backend systems for data security, efficiency, and scalability, and implementing real-time computing practices across various product engineering disciplines.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
2-5 years experience with backend services (Java, Golang, Python)
Strong problem-solving and programming skills
Understanding of data structures, algorithms, networking, and scalable systems design

Good to have:

In-depth knowledge of databases (MySQL, Redis) and messaging frameworks (Kafka, MQ)
Experience with e-commerce solutions
Ability to provide efficient and elegant design solutions

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline - 2 to 5 years of experience developing highly scalable backend services and systems using at least one of Java/Golang/Python. Qualified fresh graduates would also be considered. - Solid problem-solving skills and strong software programming capabilities, exhibits good code design and coding style. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $145000 - $250000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
