Job Description

This role involves creating and collaborating on a global sourcing strategy for assigned commodities. It includes promoting best practices, leading risk management, performing market analysis, and leading the supply base for top-level performance in delivery, quality, and cost control. Responsibilities include defining, implementing, and training supply chain organizations, developing a NBS quartile approach, managing supply chain activities, leading acquisition support, providing market information, defining global best practices, supporting division supply chain strategy, leading product transfer initiatives, developing category strategies, analyzing the supplier base for risk, negotiating purchasing strategies, and leading alignment activities. The role also involves sharing innovative suppliers and implementing cost optimization strategies.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, Business Administration or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years strategic sourcing experience
  • Knowledge of category cost drivers and strategy development
  • Ability to implement best practices based on lean supply chain principles
  • Experienced in acting independently and managed remotely
Good to have:
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, influencing, negotiation and project management skills
  • Proficient in ERP systems like SAP, Jonyx, IFS or Microsoft AX
  • Detail-oriented self-starter
  • Strong communication and intercultural skills

Job Details

This role will have the responsibility of creating and collaborating on a global sourcing strategy for assigned commodities.   This individual will promote best practice sharing, lead risk management efforts, perform market analysis, and lead our supply base to top level performance in delivery and quality while controlling total cost.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and train the supply chain organizations and critical suppliers on NBS principles and expectations.
  • Develop, lead and deliver a NBS quartile approach and strategy for our shared suppliers across the segments.
  • Manage supply chain activities and projects across the divisions that allow for optimization of quality, delivery and cost.
  • Lead acquisition support in due diligence and integration activities.
  • Key source of information around inflation, market conditions and savings pipeline for the leadership teams.
  • Define with the Corporate SCM Leaders global best practices based on lean supply chain principles.
  • Support the division supply chain strategy in meeting the overall division level business plan and objectives
  • Lead and support product transfer initiatives across regions and segments.
  • Development and implementation of global electrical category strategies in cooperation with the global supply chain management team.
  • Analyze and evaluate the supplier base in terms of existing risk and develop and implement risk mitigation measures utilizing an NBS approach.
  • Negotiating purchasing strategies, prices and contracts with shared suppliers across divisions.
  • Lead alignment and cooperation activities between the Supply Leaders.
  • Share new innovative suppliers within the local supply chain organizations.
  • Developing and implementing cost optimization strategies in cooperation with local strategic sourcing for new product development and product optimizations in cooperation with Engineering.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, Business Administration or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years strategic sourcing experience.
  • Knowledge of category cost drivers and defining cross divisional category strategy development.
  • Ability to identify, develop and implement best practices based on lean supply chain principles.
  • Experienced in acting independently and being managed remotely.
  • Familiar in preparing and making presentations to Senior Management.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in ERP systems like SAP, Jonyx, IFS or Microsoft AX.
