We’re seeking a customer-focused and proactive Senior Systems Administrator to manage our cloud-based infrastructure, provide remote technical support, oversee software licenses, and handle new equipment procurement.
Job Overview:
As the Senior Systems Administrator, you’ll manage and optimise our cloud-based systems, including Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, Slack and tools for game development such as Unity and Plastic SCM.
You’ll also support a remote team using MacOS and Windows based devices, ensuring security and efficiency. Additionally, you’ll oversee software licenses and subscriptions, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness, as well as the specification, sourcing, and distribution of new equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Service management:
Ensure fast resolution of service issues and new service request, proactively address underlying process, system and efficiency issues
Deliver high level of end user customer satisfaction
Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Manage and maintain the studio’s cloud-based systems, including Google Workspace, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence), Slack, Miro, Perforce, and Plastic SCM.
Ensure these systems are optimized and secure for the remote team
End-User Device Management:
Provide support for a fully remote workforce using personal devices (laptops, PCs, tablets).
Ensure secure configurations, offer troubleshooting assistance, and resolve issues across MacOS and Windows environments.
Device Specification and Procurement:
Work with team members to define requirements for new devices, select appropriate hardware based on performance and compatibility
Source the best options from suppliers, and coordinate the distribution of equipment to new and existing team members.
System Security:
Implement robust security measures for cloud systems and personal devices to safeguard against unauthorized access, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.
Conduct security audits, configure access controls, and enforce security best practices, including data backup and disaster recovery plans.
Software License & Subscription Management:
Manage all software licenses and subscriptions for the studio, including tracking usage, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and negotiating with vendors to secure the best value.
Proactively identify opportunities to optimize software costs and streamline subscriptions.
Automation & Integration:
Set up and maintain integrations between various cloud-based systems (Google Workspace, Jira, Slack)
Automate administrative tasks to enhance productivity and reduce manual efforts.
User Support and Training:
Provide technical support and training, ensuring best practices in system usage and security.
Educate users on best practices for system usage, data security, and device management.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, software licenses, and processes.
Provide regular performance and incident reports.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Proficiency:
Around 5+ years of experience managing cloud-based systems such as Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence, and other collaboration tools.
Expertise in managing and supporting hybrid environments across personal MacOS and Windows devices.
Experience with managing software licenses and subscriptions, ensuring compliance, and vendor negotiations.
Familiarity with hardware specification, procurement, and remote device management
Security Expertise:
Strong understanding of cloud security principles, access controls, and vulnerability management.
Experience conducting security audits, managing data protection, and implementing disaster recovery plans.
Certifications (Preferred):
Google Workspace Administrator, Atlassian Jira Administrator, or relevant cloud certifications.
IT Security
Bonus Points:
Experience with Unity or other game development platforms.
Familiarity with Perforce and Plastic SCM in remote game development workflows.
