Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and OSS offerings.
The Data Migration & Modernization team within Azure Data is hiring a Service Engineer 2. The team is fully located in India and owns the entire migration charter. Database migration is a crucial area that is top of mind for the Azure organization and an area of investment for the team. These set of services are the newest addition of services being built by the team and are driven by the all-important momentum of migrating and modernizing customer workloads from on-premises to Azure. These are high scale hybrid services, and their goal is to help customers migrate their workloads from wherever they are to Azure and modernize on the way.

Required/Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering OR equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience in cloud computing and DevOps.
• 2+ years experience working on large scale cloud applications.
• Experience developing code, scripts, systems, and/or tools that support Infrastructure as Code and Automation

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:
This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

• Develop test plans/cases, conditions, and scenarios in support of ongoing applications and infrastructure.
• Good technical understanding on .NET Core, Kubernetes, Docker, Azure services.
• Demonstrated solid working knowledge on Azure / AWS / GCP / Kubernetes.
• Solid analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum/Lean Methodology.
• Evaluate current services and drive performance, availability, and supportability improvements.
• Drive increased efficiencies through automation and reduction in operational expenditure.

• Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, automating build, test, and deployment while integrating AI/ML for predictive diagnostics and intelligent automation.
• Applies best practices of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, and debugging to ensure fast and smooth delivery of software products.
• Drives efficiency by developing scripts and/or automation and leveraging telemetry data to identify patterns and trends that drive continuous improvement.
