As a Software Engineer III, Machine Learning, Payments at Google, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing payment solutions for Google's vast user base. You will contribute to projects critical to Google's payments infrastructure, working on innovative features like Autofill, tap and pay, and the Google Pay app. Your responsibilities will include designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software solutions while adhering to best practices and collaborating with peers and stakeholders. You will also be involved in debugging and resolving issues, analyzing their impact, and contributing to documentation and educational content.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • Experience with Machine Learning Algorithms
  • Experience with Coding, System Design, Software Development
Good to have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields
  • 2 years of experience building developer tools
  • Experience developing accessible technologies
  • Knowledge of machine learning methods and applications
  • Excellent coding skills in C, C++, Java, or Python

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
  • Experience with Machine Learning Algorithms, Machine Learning, AI Algorithms, Coding, System Design, Software Development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality and code health (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Knowledge of machine learning methods and applications.
  • Excellent coding skills in C, C++, Java, or Python.

In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide on available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
