AVER seeks a Strategic Communications Specialist to provide communication analytics, strategy, and support across organizational divisions. Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing communications materials, managing communications functions and events, creating engaging internal/external publications, developing marketing/PR strategies (email, social media, events), and reviewing communications effectiveness. The role involves writing executive communications, partnering with SMEs, performing knowledge management, managing special projects, and advising on policy issues. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency with communication tools.

Description

AVER is a fast-growing SDVOSB that has achieved significant revenue growth over the past 5 plus years with much of our work focused on Data Analytics, Mission Support, IT Modernization and Biometrics. AVER is seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist to provide communication analytics, strategy, and support for several organizational divisions. Responsibilities include:  
  • Work closely with SME and stakeholders supporting a broad scope of communications duties
  • Draft and regularly review charters, templates, policies, SOPs and other guidance materials for standardized development and implementation of communications process and products
  • Manage communications functions, event support, responding to inquiries and issuing messaging to stakeholders, and provide quality control on all products ensuring consistent data and messaging
  • Plan, research, write, and edit internal and external publications designed to engage and inform internal and external stakeholders
  • Handle, draft, review and package correspondence, supervisor messaging, and other sensitive content
  • Employ a variety of marketing/graphics, and public relations strategies that may include email, social media, special events; researches and translates various forms of subject matter to produce content for fact sheets, brochures/branding, newsletter, and other internal or external communications
  • Develop, disseminate, and manage utilization of conference booth and exhibit marketing elements, letters, newsletters, graphics, presentations, advertisements, social media posts, talking points, speeches, sound clips, videos, banners, posters, cards, user guides, fact sheet, tri-folds and other promotional materials as required
  • Review the effectiveness of communications strategies, materials and programs ensuring effective engagement with personnel and stakeholders
  • Write and review executive communication products such as talking points, briefings, and email correspondences
  • Partner and engage with internal SMEs to identify, develop, and recommend improvement techniques for task and communication management
  • Perform knowledge management functions for supporting SharePoint content development and updates
  • Manage special projects, assessments, assignments, and technical support to leadership
  • Analyze organizational policy issues to identify communication needs, manage changing policies and their effect on stakeholder initiatives, and evaluate the content of new or modified incoming directives, processes, or standards
  • Advise and provide analytical support on problem definitions, planning methodologies, policies, procedures, and any internal communications requirements needed to support leadership
Education Requirements:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications or related field  
Experience Requirements: 
  • Experience supporting Federal programs
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and disseminate communications/messaging in various formats and tailored to various audiences
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, consulting, and facilitation skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with communication tools and techniques, i.e., SharePoint

Location: 
  • HYBRID (Local to Washington D.C.)
Security Requirements: 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance (Public Trust)
