Job Description

The Strategic Procurement Advisor will contribute to Boomi's success by developing and supporting sourcing strategies, managing suppliers and internal stakeholders to deliver best-in-class performance. This role involves managing the contract life cycle for categories like Marketing, IT, and Engineering. Responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders, compiling market intelligence, developing relationships with suppliers, drafting agreements, negotiating business terms, and managing RFPs and RFQs. The Advisor will be part of a team managing over $100 million in global spend and is expected to meet individual savings targets. The role requires strong communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
Must have:
  • 4+ years experience in Category Management or Procurement
  • Experience in managing procurement projects in indirect spend categories
  • High level of proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of procurement legal requirements and contracting best practices
  • Ability to influence peers and leadership
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Strong experience with P2P Solutions like NetSuite, Ariba, One Trust, CLM’s etc
  • Strong negotiation skills with suppliers
  • Ability to multitask and work under minimal direction
  • Experience in Supplier engagement: Onboarding, pricing and contract negotiation
Good to have:
  • 2+ years of formal project management and/or analytics experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • Netsuite Experience
  • Jira Experience

How you'll make an impact: 

The Strategic Procurement Advisor contributes to Boomi’s success by effectively developing and supporting sourcing strategies, effectively managing suppliers and internal stakeholder networks to deliver best in class performance for the relevant spend areas including but not limited to Marketing, IT, and Engineering. They consistently deliver measurable and strategic goals to enable a competitive advantage to bottom-line and top-line company growth. You will be part of a team that manages the Procurement Global Spend of >$100 Million. The Strategic Procurement Advisor is an individual contributor role, and will have an individual savings target.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the contract life cycle for some of the following Categories; Marketing,  Marketing Technology Software, Professional Services, Consulting, Facilities and other spend categories as assigned
  • Collaborate effectively internally with Stakeholders and Suppliers to drive purchases to completion while ensuring the best value for the company
  • Compile key market intelligence on key categories and suppliers to develop category strategies
  • Develop new effective business and professional relationships with strategic suppliers and industry players to bring value back to Boomi
  • Draft and redline a wide variety of agreements, such as Software License Agreements, Master Agreements, SOW’s etc
  • Deliver value and savings back to the business in the form of reduced pricing, additional products, and/or concessions
  • Negotiate business terms such as pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, price protection etc
  • Effectively and confidently communicate both positive and negative messages to suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Manage and drive RFP’s and RFQ’s in systems like Workday

The Experience you bring:  

  • 4+ years of experience in Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, or Procurement with an emphasis in Marketing and Technology. Experience in one or more categories, including Marketing, Sales,  IT hardware/software, and Professional Services/Consulting
  • In depth knowledge and experience in managing procurement projects in indirect spend categories
  • High level of proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of critical procurement legal requirements and contracting best practices
  • Ability to influence peers and leadership both internally and externally
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication
  • Strong experience with P2P Solutions like NetSuite, Ariba, One Trust, CLM’s etc
  • Strong negotiation skills with suppliers
  • Works well under pressure, ability to multitask, and is comfortable working under minimal direction
  • Experience in Supplier engagement: Onboarding, pricing and contract negotiation, performance management
  • Experience in driving a change with process improvement and required system definition and implementation

Bonus Points If You Have: 

  • 2+ years of formal project management experience and/or analytics experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • Netsuite Experience
  • Jira Experience

Boomi is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base compensation for this position in Vancouver, B.C. ranges between 90,000-110,000 CAD annually + applicable bonus. Final compensation will be determined by various factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
