Adtext, the market leading commercials subtitling division of The Mill, is looking for an experienced English hard-of-hearing subtitler to fill the position of Subtitling Producer.

Job Description

Role:

  • Creating English hard-of-hearing subtitles for broadcast and online.
  • Organising the creation and delivery of foreign-language and audio description projects, from the quotation stage to the delivery of files to clients, whilst maintaining strict quality standards.
  • Liaising with clients, adapting to short-notice schedule changes, handling video assets and sourcing and managing freelance linguists.

Responsibilities:

  • Client Liaison
    • Providing direct client support throughout the project cycle.
    • Communicating with clients regarding project status.
    • Handling queries from translators and other technical or linguistic issues.
    • Ensuring that projects meet clients’ expectations.
  • Project Management
    • Assigning, scheduling and supervising foreign-language projects.
    • Recruiting freelance translators and updating the linguists database.
    • Checking all media for accurate duration, frame rate, content, quality, aspect ratio and format.
    • Applying quality control to ensure the highest quality subtitles are created and delivered to clients.
  • Other Associated Duties
    • Liaising with technical personnel.
    • Finding solutions to everyday technical and linguistic problems.
    • Staying up-to-date with technology developments.
    • Ensuring all projects are invoiced accurately.
    • Assigning POs to freelancers.
