Job Description

The Technical Manager (TM) role is an essential member of the software development team. Our TMs work with teams of experienced and highly skilled project and technical leaders in the delivery of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), User Experience (UX), Radar, and Compute and Security (C&S) products. Aptiv develops cutting edge Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems which enhances vehicle safety. Studies show just a half a second more warning can mitigate or prevent 60 percent of accidents. The underlying features such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane keeping assistance technologies (and more) that have the power to prevent accidents and save lives.
Must have:
  • Develop and lead engineering proposals for the software team to win targeted business opportunities.
  • Lead the quoting of New Business and Change requests within the assigned customer product including leading Technical Design Reviews (TDRs).
  • Understand customer needs and translate into quotes covering Engineering headcount, and costs for Software Tools, COTS etc.
  • Ensure quoted work complies with product development processes and organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Achieve department metrics in areas of budget compliance.
  • Support in establishing a common Software estimation process.
  • Own and Lead Supplier management for assigned products.
  • Ensure supplier releases are on time and in accordance with Aptiv’s quality expectations.
  • Drive Supplier Competency Excellence by fostering a culture of pursuing perfection.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, computer or related field of study).
  • 10+ years of experience as embedded software developer or Systems engineer.
  • 5+ years of experience with software project management leading global teams.
  • 1+ years in Software Supplier Management.
  • Possesses good communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Master’s degree in engineering discipline (computer science, software, computer or related field of study)
  • Familiarity with Automotive SPICE
  • Able to cultivate strong relationships within APTIV across all engineering and program management
  • Experience with Active Safety systems or Autonomous driving systems
  • Experience with SDLC tools such as JIRA, requirements management tools, and configuration management tools
  • Familiarity with AUTOSAR

Aptiv is seeking an energetic Technical Manager for its Regional Software Applications Team in Monterrey, NL.

Your Role:

The key job functions for the Technical Manager are as follows:

New Business Quoting

  • Develop and lead engineering proposals, for the software team, to win targeted business opportunities
