As a Technical Program Manager III at Google Cloud, you'll lead complex networking projects, using your expertise to plan requirements, manage schedules, and identify risks. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and executives, to ensure projects are delivered successfully. Responsibilities include defining project scope, developing execution plans, reviewing key metrics, and driving impact across multiple teams. You'll need a strong understanding of networking protocols, cloud computing, and program management principles. The role requires excellent communication and collaboration skills, the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and experience managing large-scale networking systems.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years program management experience
  • 5+ years cloud computing experience (TCP/IP, network programming)
  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, manage schedules and risks

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • 5 years of experience in cloud computing, including experience with transmission control protocol (TCP), internet protocol (IP), network programming, or capacity planning.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in network engineering/deployment and supporting product features, services and technologies (e.g., networking protocols, SDN principles, automation in data centers).
  • Experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams composed of both technical and non-technical members.
  • Experience in defining system or process requirements, building, integrating, or delivering large-scale networking systems and infrastructure.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You are equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand or identify defined work problems and program goals, obtain prioritized deliverables, and discuss program impact.
  • Prioritize program goals, understand and translate other stakeholders’ needs into program goals and prioritized deliverables with minimal assistance, and contribute to decisions on prioritizing goals and deliverables.
  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported program(s).
  • Review key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and define corrective actions for critical deviations.
  • Identify, communicate, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders within one or more teams to drive impact and work toward mutual goals.
