This Technical Solutions Program Manager role within Microsoft's Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) focuses on data analytics supporting the Cloud Decommissioning Management (CDM) team. Overview

Microsoft’s Cloud business is expanding, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI! CSCP’s vision is to empower customers to achieve more by delivering Cloud Capacity Differentiated at Scale. Our mission is to deliver capacity for all cloud services predictably through intelligent systems driven by continuous learning and a world class organization. The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability (spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters supporting services for more than 1 billion customers in over 90 countries worldwide.

Cloud Manufacturing Operations and Fulfilment (CMOF) organization within CSCP manages business operations performance and supplies hardware to the data centres. Well-defined and executed supply chain management ensures reliable on-time performance, optimized cost, prevents urgent and unplanned investments, and provides accurate and timely information across the supply base and internally across the infrastructure organization. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide. This role would own data analytics supporting the Cloud Decommissioning Management (CDM) team, responsible for decommissioning of our global server fleet. We are looking for a passionate, high-energy, supply chain professional to manage analytics in support of decommissioning of our cloud hardware. Success in this role requires the ability to co-envision new strategies for how we work with our data to support the business with an open mind to continuous improvement and adaptation to changing business needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in Engineering, Operations, Project Management, or Programming o OR equivalent experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Overall, 5-8 years of experience working with BI reporting tools, strong knowledge of relational databases and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Supply chain program or project management.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and/or other ETL tools for data extraction, transformation, and building data pipeline
  • Proficiency in Visualization tools like Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, & Power BI
  • Hands-on experience in creating dashboards, reports, and presentations to deliver insights.
  • Experience working closely with business teams to align insights with operational and strategic goals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design creative, data-driven visualization and solutions
  • Ability to interpret data, develop compelling insights, and craft impactful narratives.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills to present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical certifications relevant to data analysis or business intelligence are a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to simplify complex data into meaningful insights.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Self-motivated, with experience working in global, dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience driving improvements or process enhancements based on data insights.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

 

Responsibilities

  • Extract, clean, and transform data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  • Develop compelling data visualizations and dashboards to support business decision-making.
  • Build automated and dynamic reports to ensure timely insights and operational efficiency.
  • Identify the most suitable analytical tool/technique to address business questions, conducts analyses, interprets results, and delivers actionable recommendations.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support day-to-day operations and resolve urgent business queries.
  • Work closely with business teams to understand requirements, identify challenges, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Analyse complex datasets and draw meaningful conclusions that align with business objectives.
  • Create impactful presentations and visual storytelling to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Connects across functional teams (Ex – Engineering for building data pipes/connections) and the broader organization to understand upstream data process and build appropriate and relevant data models for data consumption and representation.
  • Drive improvements in data quality, reporting efficiency, and data telemetry for better narrative and decision-making.
  • Excellent organization, communication, project management with BI (business intelligence) and Analytical skills will lead to success in this role, in addition to getting an opportunity to build cloud-related business acumen and sharpen program/technical management skills
