Job description
As an intern, you will work under the guidance of senior designers to contribute to the creation and implementation of enemy creatures in the game. By rapidly learning design tools and workflows, you will assist in designing basic enemy behaviors, configuring attributes, and conducting playtests. We expect you to demonstrate strong execution skills and a passion for translating design concepts into tangible game content.
Assist in designing basic enemy behaviors and skill logic (movement, attacks, hit reactions, etc.)
Configure enemy attribute parameters and combat balance under the guidance of lead designers
Maintain enemy data sheets using Excel/design tools and document version updates
Collaborate with programmers and animators to debug and optimize enemy animation logic
Participate in playtests to identify and report gameplay issues (difficulty progression, combat pacing, etc.)
Learn game design methodologies and project development pipelines
Job requirements
Currently in school graduating with a future date, or graduation year no earlier than 2024
Bachelor’s degree or above (Game Design, Digital Media, Computer Science preferred)
Familiarity with enemy design conventions in mainstream genres (ARPG/ACT/etc.), with ability to analyze 3+ classic case studies
Proficiency in Excel; basic knowledge of Unity/Unreal Engine is a plus
Strong learning agility to master project-specific design tools within one week
Numerical sensitivity to iteratively adjust behaviors based on test data
Passion for game development; prior experience in game MODs/indie projects is preferred
