The Area Mechanic Bricklayer at Walt Disney World is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the parks and resorts. This involves performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, working from aerial platforms and confined spaces, and handling various materials like stucco, plaster, cement, and grout. Responsibilities include ceiling tile and grid work, drywall repair, and interpreting blueprints. Safety is paramount. The role requires a valid Florida driver's license and a minimum of 4 years' experience in masonry. The position may involve handling cleaning chemicals and additional PPE. Work schedules vary due to the 24/7 operation of the parks and resorts.
Must have:
  • 4+ years masonry experience
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Stucco, plaster, cement, grout experience
  • Blueprint reading & interpretation
  • Ceiling tile & drywall repair
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
Good to have:
  • Fiberglass repair experience
  • Mold and modeling experience

Job Summary:

Area Mech Bricklayer Plaster is more than just a day mason. Responsibilities for keeping our parks and resorts looking flawless so Guests get the full enjoyment of our Parks and Resorts. Safety is also front-and-center. Will perform scheduled, planned and unscheduled work, along with responding any needs of the area. This is a field service position that may include work from high platforms and confined spaces throughout Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $23.76 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled and planned work
  • Will work from and use aerial platform equipment
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in masonry staff trade
  • Experience working with stucco, plaster, cement, grout
  • Experience replacing ceiling tile and grid work
  • Experience with drywall repair and finishing
  • Experience reading and interpreting plumbing blueprints, material takeoffs, prints for permit submittals and construction prints
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in fiberglass repair, mold and modeling work
