The Laundry System Mechanic is responsible for the repair, modification, and rebuilding of all laundry system equipment at Walt Disney World. This role requires strong knowledge of electrical and electronic laundry devices, along with troubleshooting skills. The position involves working from elevated platforms and confined spaces across the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property. Responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on laundry systems, using testing equipment for troubleshooting, rebuilding pumps, valves, and regulators, and handling cleaning chemicals and supplies. The position requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in the electrical field, an understanding of steam and hot oil thermal systems, and proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and pneumatic controls. Additional requirements include experience with PLCs, relay logic, and ladder logic, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics, and excellent communication skills.
Must have:
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in the electrical field
  • Understanding of steam and hot oil thermal systems
  • Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, electronic, and pneumatic controls
  • Experience with PLCs, relay logic, and ladder logic
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
  • Capable of performing fault isolation and repair failed systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

The Laundry System Mechanic is more than just a modern-day technician. They are responsible for repairing, modification, and rebuilding of all laundry system equipment. Laundry System Mechanics must have strong working knowledge of electrical and electronic laundry devices and along with troubleshooting the equipment. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $39.48 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of laundry systems
  • Use a variety of testing equipment for troubleshooting of equipment and systems to the board level
  • Rebuild pumps, valves, and regulators
  • This position requires a one-year minimum commitment
  • Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in the electrical field
  • Must understand steam and hot oil thermal systems
  • Proficient in troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and pneumatic controls
  • Experience with PLCs, relay logic and ladder logic
  • Ability to pass a technical proficiency test
  • The ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics
  • Capable of performing fault isolation and repair failed systems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Journeyman license
