Job Description

As a Business Development Manager at Gameopedia, you'll drive the company's mission forward by expanding its reach and forging partnerships with major companies. You'll work closely with the Director of Strategic Research and Business Development to spearhead strategic initiatives, identify new opportunities, cultivate relationships, and craft sales strategies. Responsibilities include identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing impactful sales presentations, collaborating with marketing and product teams, serving as the primary client contact, conducting follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction, and utilizing user journey analysis to enhance service delivery. This role requires experience in B2B sales, account management, or a related field within the entertainment or tech industry; experience with data-driven solutions is a plus. You will be a key player in shaping the future of gaming for both players and businesses.

Forge Epic Partnerships in the Gaming Industry as our new Business Development Manager

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to bring their strategic expertise to the most exciting industry around – gaming! If you’re ready to go beyond traditional sales and make a lasting impact on the gaming industry, this role is for you.

How you'll make an impact

As a Business Development Manager at Gameopedia, you’ll be at the heart of driving our mission forward. You’ll play a key role in expanding our reach, forging meaningful partnerships, and helping shape how some of the world’s biggest companies interact with games. Working closely with the Director of Strategic Research and Business Development, you’ll spearhead strategic initiatives aimed at growing our customer base and amplifying our presence in the gaming industry.

With your proactive approach, you’ll identify exciting new opportunities, cultivate strong relationships, and craft sales strategies that align with our vision of delivering ‘extra-ordinary’ experiences to a billion gamers every day. Your work will directly contribute to how Gameopedia continues to lead the industry, shaping the future of gaming for players and businesses alike.

What we expect you to do

Remember, you don’t need to know it all from day one – give yourself the space to learn, grow and shape the role with us.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and new customers to expand the company’s reach and customer base.

  • Develop and deliver impactful sales presentations that are tailored to the users’ journeys, highlighting how our solutions address specific customer needs and pain points.

  • Work collaboratively with the marketing and product teams to utilize market analysis and customer feedback in shaping effective sales strategies and product development.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for business clients, ensuring their needs are met and that they receive a high-quality service that reflects the company’s standards.

  • Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and address any issues promptly, using insights from user journey analysis to enhance communication and service delivery.

What we believe you need to succeed in the role:

  • Experience with B2B solution/service sales, account management, business development, product development or related field from the entertainment or tech industry. Experience with data-driven solutions is a plus.

  • An understanding of the Video Games industry, experience is a plus

  • Proven track record of identifying, negotiating, and closing business opportunities as a team
