At Small World Games, we build metaverse games on the Roblox platform with over 2B+ unique play sessions and >30M MAU! We are an indie studio based in Bangalore, India. Our games are played around the world in over 100 countries, and have been viewed over 1B+ times on platforms like YouTube and Twitter. We also partner with massive brands on creating engaging and exciting experiences on Roblox

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure web APIs to handle HTTP POST/GET requests from our Roblox games.
• Build and maintain databases like MongoDB and Redis to store and manage leaderboard data, transaction logs, and player analytics.
• Create systems for globally tracking player data and transactions across all games.
• Ensure high performance and reliability of backend infrastructure, supporting large numbers of concurrent players.
• Implement security protocols to protect game data.
• Collaborate with game developers to integrate backend systems seamlessly with our games.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to backend systems.

Desirable skills:

• 3+ years of experience in backend development, particularly for gaming or real-time applications.
• Strong experience with RESTful API development.
• Proficiency in databases such as MongoDB and Redis is a must
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Familiarity with server-side programming languages (Node.js, Python, Go, etc.).
• Knowledge of security best practices in API and data management.
• Experience with game development is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
