The Creative Director, Sports will be responsible for innovating brand identities, concepts, and strategies for sports titles. They will work with a cross-functional creative team to develop campaigns, overseeing visual development and ensuring consistency. They will also partner with various teams to create world-class creative. The role involves strategic thinking, problem-solving, and embodying 2K’s creative culture. The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, concept and have an eye for details and should have the ability to communicate complex concepts. The Creative Director will be responsible for the overall look and feel of the projects.

What We Need:

We’re seeking a talented and passionate Creative Director (Art Director background) to join our in-house Creative Services team, focusing on 2K’s Sports titles, such as NBA 2K, WWE 2K, PGATour 2K, and TopSpin.

Reporting into the Global Creative Director of NBA 2K and Sports, you would work on all things related to these franchises, ranging from announce and launch campaigns, social posts, cover designs, brand toolkits, and everything in between.

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about sports, games, and gaming culture, with a strong knowledge of 2K’s sports titles and a deep understanding of current gaming culture and sports fandom.

What You Will Do:

  • You’re responsible for innovating and evolving the brand identities, concepts and strategies for our games based on cultural triggers, audience insights and business needs.

  • You will be working with a cross-functional creative team, including, but not limited to: Associate Creative Directors, Designers, Writers, Game Capture Artists, Editors, etc.

  • You will work with the Senior Creative Director of Sports to craft a compelling, cohesive and coherent campaign work for our title launches.

  • You will oversee the visual development of the project, encouraging input from team members but making final decisions on the visual quality, style, and mood of assets.

  • You will communicate the visual design and development of the project to the art team and production through art specifications, style guides and discussions as well as set and approve the visual design and content for the project, ensuring that the artistic style and content are innovative, appropriate, and consistent.

  • You will partner with the creative, marketing production, global marketing strategy, go-to-market, partnership, and analytic teams to create world-class creative. You will be a connector and problem solver.

  • You will innovate and create ideas with the creative teams across 2K’s sports portfolio.

  • You are participating and adding value to marketing strategies and planning while working together with producers to ensure on-budget and on-time creative delivery.

  • Guard, elevate and embody 2K’s creative culture in every possible situation.

What Will Make You a Great Fit: 

  • First things first: You’re able to work in a fast-paced business culture with the ability to pivot quickly.

  • You are not afraid to engage in hands-on creative projects. You enjoy concepting and have an eye for details.

  • Work on large brand campaigns is a must.

  • Excellent skills with Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Slides.

  • Broad traditional art skills in the areas of color theory, composition, form and graphic design.

  • Ability to elevate strategic thinking and planning.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher or equivalent combination of education and experience and training.

  • 9+ years of professional experience in the creative field. At least 3-5 years of experience leading creative teams.

  • Experienced managerial skills coupled with the ability to optimize people, processes,
    and craft.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in global market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations across multiple locations and time zones.

  • Ability to efficiently communicate complex concepts and topics to stakeholders, wider organization and partners.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $144,000 and $215,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
