Job Summary
Job Description
As a Customer Engineer at Google Cloud, you'll work with leading companies to facilitate the adoption and successful implementation of Google Cloud products. You'll partner with technical business teams to differentiate Google Cloud, help customers understand its power, and develop cloud solutions. This involves engaging in proofs of concept, troubleshooting technical issues, and presenting solutions to both technical and executive stakeholders. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, resolving technical blockers, sharing infrastructure modernization expertise, guiding customers through application environment assessments, recommending integration strategies, and prototyping integrations in customer environments. The role requires strong technical skills in cloud native architecture, infrastructure engineering, and experience presenting to and working with clients.
Must have:
- 6+ years cloud native architecture experience
- Cloud infrastructure engineering expertise
- Experience presenting to technical stakeholders
- Problem-solving and technical support skills
- Understanding of cloud technologies (public, private, hybrid)
Good to have:
- Experience with Kubernetes, CNCF projects, and SRE
- Software/infrastructure development for scalable systems
- Infrastructure automation and server/storage/network functions
- Data center consolidation/migration experience
- Networking and security expertise (Routing, VPNs, firewalls, IAM)

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.
- Experience in engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with private, hybrid, or public cloud technology, migrating Linux or other operating systems, including virtualization (e.g., VMware).
- Experience in container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, CNCF projects), and operations methodology (e.g., SRE) and related technologies.
- Experience in architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable systems.
- Experience in infrastructure automation and functional operations of server, storage, and network functions.
- Experience with data centers consolidation, relocation, migration, or virtualization projects.
- Experience with networking and security concepts (e.g., Routing, VPNs, load balancers, firewalls, IAM).

Responsibilities
- Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
- Share in-depth enterprise infrastructure modernization expertise to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partner with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
- Work with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
- Guide customers through assessments of existing legacy application environments and provide recommendations on a prioritization roadmap for infrastruction and application modernization.
- Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a solution on Google Cloud.
