The Why (Role Purpose):

As a Data Engineer in Martech, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational maintenance of the team’s data assets. Along with this is, implementing data integrations for applications that the team supports like Salesforce Marketing Cloud.

Reporting to the Head of Martech, you will play an important role in ensuring we have the correct and timely data for business consumption. You will be collaborating internally within the department, as well as across all business to ensure that the data delivered has a positive impact to execute strategic decisions.

The What and How:

To meet our customer needs, the key responsibilities of this role cover the activities listed below. Please note that this is an overview, and other responsibilities may be required to fulfil the purpose of the role.

o   Assist in troubleshooting and fixing erroneous values in assets (DB objects, scripts, jobs, queries, reporting) as they arise during BAU

o   Working with business owners, analysts, and developers to design implementations plans for new data integrations that will ultimately feed towards reporting and internal application needs

o   Continuously develop and improve the current ETL/ELT framework in place that pumps data to and from our database from various external and internal sources

o   Build solutions in BigQuery, Snowflake and Prefect

o   Making sure data up to date, and available for consumption for our reporting suite in Power BI, data for our CRM system and other internal application tools

o   Provide quality assurance of the data being used and ETLs/ELTs jobs established

Your Skills and Experience:

Essential

·       experience in dealing with data integrations, ETL/ELT pipelines or any transformation tools

·       Strong knowledge of SQL

·       Working knowledge of Python

·       Basic understanding of Git

·       Problem-solving skills: Demonstrates the ability to quickly identify and solve problems. You can think critically and creatively to find solutions. 

·       Eager to dive in: Is not afraid to take on challenges. Is willing to work hard to solve problems. 

Desirable

·       Experience with Snowflake

·       Experience with BigQuery

·       Experience with Prefect

·     Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce Marketing Cloud
