Job Description

The Digital Assets Research Analyst at Animoca Brands will conduct in-depth research on blockchain protocols, cryptocurrencies, DeFi, NFTs, and Web3 technologies. This role requires creating high-quality, standardized research reports using Sell-Side Equity Research expertise, leveraging on-chain data, and market metrics for actionable insights. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing thought leadership content, and potentially engaging with clients to present research findings. The ideal candidate will possess 2-3 years of Sell-Side Equity Research experience, strong analytical and writing skills, and a solid understanding of blockchain and Web3 technologies.

Must have:

Sell-Side Equity Research experience (2-3 years)
Strong analytical & writing skills
In-depth understanding of blockchain & Web3
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, data visualization tools
Report creation & standardization expertise

Good to have:

CFA or similar certifications
SQL and Python proficiency
Experience in digital assets research
Client presentation skills

We are looking for a skilled Digital Assets Research Analyst with a Sell-Side Equity Research background to join our team. This role will combine your expertise in producing in-depth, standardized research reports with a strong understanding of financial markets and trends, applied to the world of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and Web3 technologies.

Responsibilities

Research & Analysis:

Conduct in-depth research and analysis on blockchain protocols, cryptocurrencies, DeFi projects, NFTs, and other Web3 technologies.
Monitor key trends, macroeconomic factors, and developments in the digital assets space to identify emerging opportunities.
Analyze tokenomics, on-chain data, and market metrics to generate actionable insights.

Report Creation & Standardization:

Leverage your Sell-Side Equity Research experience to design and implement a standardized approach to presenting external research reports.
Create high-quality, structured reports that convey complex information in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
Establish templates, methodologies, and best practices for research output, ensuring consistency across the team.

Internal Collaboration:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Business Development, and Product, to provide data-driven insights and support strategic decisions.
Collaborate with leadership to align research priorities with company goals and client needs.
Thought Leadership:
Produce thought leadership content, such as white papers and market outlooks, to position the company project development and its valuation
Stay ahead of industry developments to ensure our research remains innovative and relevant.

Client/Stakeholder Engagement (Optional):

Present research findings to internal and external stakeholders, translating technical and financial insights into actionable recommendations.

Requirements

Requirements / Skill Sets:
We’re looking for candidates who bring a unique blend of traditional finance expertise and an interest in digital assets:
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in Sell-Side Equity Research, preferably covering sectors like Technology, Financials, or other high-growth industries.
Strong track record in producing detailed, high-quality research reports with actionable insights.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
CFA or similar certifications (preferred but not mandatory).
Essential Skills:
Expertise in fundamental and technical analysis, including the ability to interpret complex data sets and financial models.
Exceptional writing skills and a proven ability to present findings in a structured, professional manner.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
Basic understanding of SQL and Python in order to utilize on chain data through internal database and API’s
Crypto/Digital Assets Knowledge:
A strong interest in blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and Web3 technologies.
Strong understanding of tokenomics, DeFi, and on-chain analysis (experience in digital assets research is a plus, but not mandatory).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and convey complex ideas clearly.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive mindset.
