Job Description

The Digital Innovation Director will lead software development efforts in India, overseeing web and mobile projects for Connected Selling and Digi-Chem initiatives across various segments. This senior-level role requires managing a large, global team, upgrading development processes, and ensuring timely execution of digital projects. Responsibilities include hiring, talent development, collaborating with cross-functional teams (R&D, GIT, Commercial), and leveraging the Phase Gate process. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise across the IoT stack, data science, and software development, along with experience in Azure or AWS environments. The position demands a hands-on leader capable of deep technical involvement and aligning execution to strategic goals.

Must have:

10+ years leading large, global digital teams
Experience managing digital portfolios (IoT, data science)
Web & mobile software development expertise (Azure/AWS)
Strong technical skills across the IoT stack
Bachelor's/Master's degree in relevant field

Mission Statement/Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Director of Software, the Director of Software Delivery will head up our software development effort out of India. He / She will oversee software development across web and mobile platforms for our Connected Selling initiative and support our Digi-Chem offerings in PT, WT, LT, and EM segments. This position is responsible for the quality and speed of execution, upgrading the software development lifecycle processes. The Director, of software delivery, has ownership of all areas including hiring, developing and motivating talent, and creating and executing sustainable processes for development and support. He / She is expected to be a hands-on leader willing and able to get into deep technical details.

Outcomes/Work Results

Works with the Sr. Software Director to create software development goals and priorities in alignment with the digital strategy and ensures quality and timely execution of the digital portfolio in support of this strategy through internal resources or external partnerships.

Develops and continually upgrades sustainable processes for developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions. Leverages the Phase Gate process to ensure organizational engagement. Holds associates accountable for meeting goals and successfully executing digital projects.

Identifies and closes internal competency gaps through hiring or partnering.

Keeps an elevated focus on developing and motivating talent by providing frequent, useful real-time coaching, and recommending and facilitating developmental activities and assignments that make substantial contributions to the associate's growth.
Ensures that global digital projects positively impact the customer experience and increase the adoption of digital solutions.
Collaborates effectively with other departments, including R&D, GIT, and Commercial and Operational stakeholders for effective project execution.

Requirements - Minimum requirements to apply

Must have had successful experiences:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, chemistry or related field.
Ten years of experience leading and managing large, global, and multi-disciplinary digital teams.
Experience managing a digital portfolio of projects, including Internet of Things and data science solutions, from concept to commercialization and support.
Experience working and establishing strategic relationships with key external partners
Deep background, knowledge, and prior experience with the development and deployment of Web and mobile software solutions including Azure or AWS environments. Strong technical skills across the entire IoT stack from edge devices to the cloud and broad skills in one or more of the following areas:

Embedded programming
Sensors, controllers, and other IoT hardware components including design, rapid prototyping, development, installation, and commissioning
Data science tools and techniques
Systems design and development
Control logic development
DevSecOps
Wired and wireless networking and protocols including Cellular (3G/4G/CAT-M), LPWAN (LoRa, SigFox, etc.), Wifi, Bluetooth
