Director of Engineering

Position Summary

SciPlay is a leading developer and publisher of digital games on mobile and web platforms, providing highly entertaining free-to-play games that millions of people play every day for their authenticity, engagement and fun.

SciPlay currently offers nine core games, including social casino games Jackpot Party Casino, Gold Fish Casino Slots, Hot Shot Casino and Quick Hit Slots, and casual games MONOPOLY Slots, Bingo Showdown, 88 Fortunes Slots, Backgammon Live, and Solitaire Daily Break with offices all over the world!

Essential Job Functions:

• Provide technical guidance to engineers on best practices for coding, documentation, testing, etc.
• Cultivate a culture of excellence through hiring standards and professional development of engineers
• Continually refine processes and standards to ensure the delivery of high quality, reliable, maintainable code
• Creation and maintenance of project documentation, such as technical specifications and on-boarding materials.
• Maintain up to date knowledge on new programming methods and new software technologies
• Collaborate with project leadership on roadmap, priorities, and goals

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant area, or equivalent experience

Required Experience:

• 12+ years of professional software development experience
• 5+ years of software engineering management experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Strong fundamental programming experience in C# and the Unity 3D game engine
• Experience managing a live product with on-going development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Working knowledge of project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, etc.
• Experience with continuous integration and automated deployment systems
• Understanding of the game development pipeline
• Understanding of RESTful APIs, and client/server interactions
• Experience using AWS or other cloud infrastructures, CDNs, etc
