The remaining 40% is dedicated to internal communications, supporting employee engagement, preparing content for internal channels, and aligning messaging across King offices. Key areas of focus include Candy Crush Saga, new initiatives, DE&I, CSR, and story mining. You will also oversee media monitoring and reporting using tools like Meltwater.
Must have:

Global Corporate and Internal Communications Manager

Contract Term: Fixed-term until August 2026

Role Overview

We’re looking for a confident, strategic, and proactive communicator to lead internal and external communications for King in the UK and Spain, with a particular focus on storytelling, media relations, and amplifying our corporate reputation. This role is a critical bridge between King’s internal culture and external narrative, helping to showcase our people, games, and purpose inside and out.

You’ll act as the primary press office contact for the UK and Spain, lead external agency relationships, guide corporate and internal storytelling for flagship campaigns like Candy Crush Saga’s All Stars and games like Candy Crush Saga as well as shape communications around King’s DE&I, CSR, and new initiatives.

This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative environment, where you will work seamlessly as part of the close-knit five-person King Comms team. Supporting one another and flexing across responsibilities on occasion when needs be.

Key Responsibilities

External Communications (Approx. 60%)

  • Lead all UK and Spain external press office activity, including media strategy, issues/crisis management, and press enquiries.
  • Develop and drive proactive storytelling across major external initiatives, including new game initiatives, DE&I, CSR, and Player Initiatives.
  • Manage PR agency relationships in the UK and Spain to ensure seamless delivery of campaigns and press office duties.
  • Identify and secure thought leadership opportunities for King spokespeople, including speaker placements and panel participation.
  • Collaborate with Candy Crush brand teams, taking full ownership of external corporate communications for flagship campaigns (e.g., All Stars), partnering with internal leads for integration.
  • Support reactive media activity and provide timely, strategic responses to issues in local markets.
  • Work in partnership with global communications colleagues to maintain consistent messaging across regions and channels.
  • Contribute to corporate web updates, media monitoring, and asset management, including the corporate press site.

Internal Communications (Approx. 40%)

  • Collaborate with the Global Internal Comms team to surface internal stories and align messaging across King offices.
  • Represent comms in forums and internal working groups, contributing to campaigns that engage and inform employees.
  • Prepare written and visual content for internal channels, including Kingdom Calls, KingfoMarket, and leadership updates.
  • Support internal initiatives like DE&I, accessibility, and local activations in Spain and the UK with clear, strategic communications.
  • Work alongside the Comms Assistant on content delivery, asset creation, and internal calendar planning.

Key Focus Areas

  • Candy Crush Saga: Act as the external communications lead on high-profile Candy campaigns. Work with internal communications partner for cross-functional alignment.
  • New Initiatives: Own the external comms strategy for new initiatives including games and game updates releases, milestone moments, and updates in collaboration with Product and Marketing teams, as needed.
  • DE&I, CSR, and Philanthropy: Champion and promote King’s partnerships and social impact programmes (e.g., Ada College, Junior Achievement).
  • Story Mining: Continuously seek and elevate stories that connect King’s people and purpose to broader audiences, using a joined-up approach across internal and external channels

Media Monitoring & Reporting

  • Oversee media monitoring and reporting using tools like Meltwater, ensuring timely tracking of coverage across priority markets and campaigns.
  • Analyse and share key insights, coverage trends, and impact reports with internal stakeholders to inform strategy and demonstrate ROI.
  • Manage dashboards and media clippings related to campaigns, product launches, and issues/crisis tracking.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong experience in media relations, PR, and/or communications within tech, entertainment, games, or a related sector.
  • Proven success working with press offices and PR agencies in the UK market; Spanish experience is a bonus.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills in English.
  • Excellent judgment in handling sensitive or crisis communications.
  • Familiarity with internal communication practices and the ability to tailor messaging for diverse employee audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Adept at building relationships with stakeholders and working across matrixed global teams.

Desirable

  • Experience working with DE&I and Employer Brand initiatives.
  • Previous experience in a global/matrix organisation.
  • Spanish language skills and/or direct experience working in the Spanish media landscape.
  • Relevant degree or qualification in communications, public relations, or related discipline.
