Job Description

The Content Acquisition team at Lionsgate is seeking an intern to assist in evaluating submissions and supporting the acquisition process. Responsibilities include inputting submissions into tracking systems, drafting coverage, compiling sales reports, completing distribution assignments (windowing graphs, rights breakdowns, presentations), and handling administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with tracking software (Airtable, FileMaker, or Monday.com preferred). Experience presenting acquisition opportunities to senior leadership is a plus. The internship is a paid 10-week program (June 10th - August 15th, 2025) and requires working 4 days a week in the Santa Monica office.

Summary of Position

The Content Acquisition team is seeking an Acquisitions intern. The intern will work directly with Content Acquisition team to help evaluate submissions and support the acquisition process through every stage.

Responsibilities

  • Input submissions into tracking and take note of internal feedback.
  • Draft coverage for incoming submissions, evaluating for creative and business merit.
  • Compile sales history reports for key stakeholders.
  • Complete distribution assignments, such as windowing graphs, rights breakdowns, and strategy presentations.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks, including payment processing and ad hoc research assignments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursing a degree in Communications, Media, Film/TV, English or any related field 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • In-depth working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with tracking software, such as Airtable, FileMaker, or Monday.com, preferred. 
  • Candidate should be prepared to present an acquisition opportunity to senior leadership, backed up by creative appraisal, preferred deal terms, and financial analysis.

All interns are required to attend orientation on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025.

Details

  • Interns must not work more than 36 hours per week
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Interns must be current rising juniors through recent grads (within 6 months of internship start date)
  • Graduate students are eligible to apply
  • Interns must be available to work for the entire length of the program
  • All internships are paid
  • Most internship positions will require working 4 days in office

Business Unit Overview

The TV & Digital Distribution department at Lionsgate provides Lionsgate content to broadcasters and platforms worldwide. The Content Acquisitions team builds partnerships throughout the global creative community and brings third-party content into Lionsgate’s distribution operation. The team sources opportunities globally, negotiates acquisition deals, and builds financial support for internal greenlights. From there, the team manages producer and rights-holder relationships through production, delivery, distribution, and subsequent programs of Lionsgate’s acquired properties.

Compensation

$18 per hour
