ABOUT THE POSITION
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 4-8 designers potentially spread across multiple projects (mostly focused on level design)
- Oversee and mentor their work in an efficient manner, as well as evaluate the design team performance and any need for tools & training
- Set up a long-term direction for the design team growth and improvement
- Review the clients' packages with Producer / Executive producer to check if there are any problems with reference materials or requirements
- Ensure all designers understand requirements and specific needs of each project
- Cooperate with Art Director, Technical Director and Producer to composite the team and estimate the time for projects
- Check daily work according to this schedule and tell Producer about the risks and propose solutions
- Perform daily checks of every designer's progress in order to find and eliminate any possible problems as soon as possible
- Ensure that the designers know the client’s feedback perfectly and check whether the designers are able to implement the feedback
- Cooperate with Art Director, Technical Director and Executive Producer to prepare proposals for clients
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years full-cycle console game experience as a lead designer/creative director with strong focus on level design, with at least two titles shipped in this position
- Hands-on experience with current engines and tools (UE4 preferred)
- Deep understanding of level design principles and AAA game development
- Work well in a large team environment, be proactive, and have excellent communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills, ability to prepare client-focused presentations and design documents
- Working knowledge in another area as art, audio, programming, animation, QA is a big plus.
- Fluent reading and writing skills in English (daily communication with an international team)
