Job Description

Kabam's Localization division seeks a KO-EN translator passionate about gaming. Responsibilities include translating game text and support materials from Korean to English, meeting a daily word count of at least 2,000, maintaining localization style and terminology, collaborating with proofreaders and editors, communicating with other departments, and reporting progress to the lead. The role requires native-level fluency in Korean and English, 1-3 years of media translation experience, familiarity with game terminology, excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to work independently. The position is hybrid, requiring two days a week in the Los Angeles office.

We are looking for an energetic, talented KO-EN translator with a passion for gaming to join our team as a localization translator. Our company operates on a hybrid schedule, with an expectation of two days per week on site at our office in downtown Los Angeles.

In this role, you can expect to be involved in:

    • Translate and localize game text and support materials from Korean to English.
    • Work in accordance with the established localization schedule, meeting an expected word count of at least 2,000/day.
    • Maintain consistency with existing localization style and terminology; keep internal documentation current and conduct occasional IP research.
    • Collaborate with proofreaders and editors to ensure accuracy and quality of final translations.
    • Communicate with other departments, developers, and global partners as needed to achieve localization objectives.
    • Report work progress to the localization translation lead.

To be successful in this role, your background includes:

    • Native-level fluency in Korean and English.
    • 1-3 years of media translation experience.
    • Familiarity with games and the terminology used in them.
    • Excellent writing and editing skills.
    • Comfortable working independently.
