Job Description

The MXP Operations Manager will lead and optimize the MXP Enterprise Platform, ensuring seamless performance and alignment with business goals. Responsibilities include strategic platform leadership, team development, platform management and optimization, strategic module development, user management and auditing, organizational structure management, data synchronization and integrity, stakeholder collaboration, security and compliance, lifecycle management, training and development, and incident and risk management. This role requires onsite presence four days a week and close collaboration with Disney IT. The position demands expertise in enterprise software platforms, ideally with MXP experience, and a strong understanding of the cruise or travel industry.

About the Role & Team

The MXP Operations Manager will play a critical leadership role in managing, optimizing, and evolving the MXP Enterprise Platform to support our strategic vision of delivering an exceptional cruise experience. This position requires strategic oversight of platform operations, from pre-cruise to post-cruise phases, and in collaboration with Disney IT will focus on ensuring the platform’s seamless performance, system integration, and alignment with business goals. The MXP Operations Manager will lead the development of platform functionalities, manage cross-functional team collaborations, and oversee the training and development of MXP users across the organization. This role will require you to be onsite 4 days a week

What You Will Do

  • Strategic Platform Leadership: Provide vision and direction for the MXP Enterprise Platform by driving its development and optimization across all phases of the customer journey. Ensure that the platform supports business strategy and enhances the customer experience.
  • Team Development & Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop internal teams in becoming proficient users of the MXP platform. Foster a culture of continuous learning by ensuring ongoing training, knowledge sharing, and best practice adoption.
  • Platform Management & Optimization: Oversee the daily operation and assure the long-term performance of the MXP platform, ensuring high reliability, scalability, and responsiveness across pre-cruise, onboard, and post-cruise stages. Liaising with IT over the support module to rectify any issues.
  • Strategic Module Development: Lead the adaptation, customization, and development of new MXP modules (e.g., POS, PMS, HR, Supply Chain Management, Tour Management) in alignment with organizational goals. Work closely with key teams to identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring the platform is fully leveraged to support business needs.
  • User Management & Auditing: Manage user account management, access control, and platform auditing. Implement system-wide overhauls of user roles to improve platform security and ensure compliance. Drive accountability by leading the MXP role audits in partnership with the DCL Archer system.
  • Organizational Structure Management: Lead the redesign of the organizational structure within the platform, ensuring accurate data entry for vessel information, berth counts, and other critical operational data.
  • Data Synchronization & Integrity: Lead the installation of shipboard modules in partnership with DCL IT, then strategically manage data integrity between onshore systems and shipboard installations to maintain real-time data accuracy, availability, and integrity.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison and subject matter expert between key stakeholders, including Finance, IT, Operations, and MarineXchange. Ensure that platform capabilities align with evolving business objectives and collaborate with Disney IT to resolve technical challenges and implement new features.
  • Security, Compliance, & Governance: Ensure that the platform adheres to all security, compliance, and data protection standards. Partner with DCL IT to implement robust security protocols and regular platform audits, focusing on operational safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Lifecycle Management & Strategic Upgrades: Lead the end-to-end software lifecycle management for the MXP platform, collaborating with DCL IT to include strategic planning of updates, maintenance, and new module implementations. Ensure the platform evolves to meet future business demands, coordinating testing and rollout of new features in collaboration with IT.
  • Training & Development: Develop the organizational training strategy for MXP, ensuring that all end-users are proficient in using the platform’s modules. Develop comprehensive training programs for the introduction of new modules and features, fostering continuous improvement across the platform.
  • Incident & Risk Management: Take ownership of the troubleshooting and resolution process for MXP-related incidents, particularly non-IT issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity. Collaborate with DCL IT to resolve technical challenges effectively.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven leadership experience managing enterprise software platforms, ideally with previous experience in MXP.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align platform operations with long-term business goals.
  • Extensive experience in the cruise or travel industry is highly desirable.
  • Expertise in managing complex software lifecycles, from development to implementation, updates, and vendor collaboration.
  • Understanding of API integrations, cloud-based infrastructures, and mobile solutions.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver training to diverse user groups.
  • Experience with data security, compliance, and governance within enterprise environments.
  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of leading successful platform implementations and upgrades.
