Job Description

The Partner Sales Manager for Google Workspace (Japan) will drive partner growth, exceeding sales goals for new and expansion business. Responsibilities include building robust partner pipelines, forecasting business, leveraging sales playbooks, delivering partner enablement, and collaborating with various Google teams (Partner Engineers, Cloud Partner Development Managers, etc.) to develop account plans and close agreements. The role requires fluent Japanese and business-level English, focusing on cultivating relationships with C-level executives within partner organizations and navigating the cloud solutions market. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in partner sales, SaaS, and the technology sector.
Must have:
  • 8+ years sales growth experience (direct/indirect)
  • 6+ years partner sales/channel management (SaaS)
  • C-level relationship building with partners
  • Fluent Japanese (customer-facing)
  • Cloud solutions, partner ecosystem expertise
  • Meet/exceed sales goals
Good to have:
  • B2B experience or certification
  • Cloud ecosystem knowledge (SIs/SPs/ISVs)
  • Generative AI passion
  • Fluent business English

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience driving sales growth within a direct and indirect sales motion/approach.
  • 6 years of experience in partner sales or channel management, within the technology sector, particularly in Software as a Service (SaaS).
  • Experience with adapting to cultivating relationships with C-level executives and decision-makers within partner organizations.
  • Experience in the market technology landscape, cloud solutions, and the partner ecosystem.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently as this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions in Japanese with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in Business-to-Business or certification.
  • Experience with Cloud ecosystems with the knowledge of System Integrators (SIs)/Service Providers (SPs) and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs).
  • Ability to grow in a dynamic, fluid environment.
  • Passionate about the rapidly evolving landscape of generative AI.
  • Ability to communicate in English fluently at business level as the role is part of regional team that requires effective communication in English with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Drive partners to build a robust partner sourced business pipeline, track opportunities, and accurately forecast business in collaboration with partners.
  • Meet and exceed partner-level monthly, quarterly and annual agreed goals for the new and expansion business, bookings, business pipeline, as well as operational metrics.
  • Leverage the Workspace Strategy and Sales Playbook with partners to develop a new and expansion demand across the assigned region. Deliver partner sales enablement with Partner Engineers.
  • Develop close relationships with Google Workspace Partner Engineers and Google Cloud Partner Engineers to grow the relevance and impact of focused partners to the Google Workspace business.
  • Work with Cloud Partner Development Managers, Google Workspace Specialists, Google Workspace Partner Engineers and Cloud Field Sales Representatives and Partners' sales teams to develop account plans, identify opportunities, and support agreement closing.
