Job Description

The Senior Field Sales Representative, Retail, Google Cloud (Japanese) role focuses on driving Google Cloud Platform (GCP) adoption within the Japanese retail sector. This involves building executive relationships with enterprise clients, negotiating and managing sales cycles, presenting to C-level executives, and guiding account strategy. Responsibilities include understanding customer technology landscapes, developing growth opportunities, collaborating with Customer Engineers and Google Partners, and achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate possesses extensive B2B software sales experience, a strong understanding of cloud and IT solutions, and fluent Japanese communication skills.
Must have:
  • 10+ years B2B software sales experience
  • Cloud/IT solution development experience
  • Fluent Japanese communication
  • Executive relationship building
  • Negotiation and sales cycle management
  • Account strategy development
Good to have:
  • Experience with infrastructure software, databases, or applications in retail
  • Experience with commercial and legal agreements
  • Partner management experience (system integrators, software vendors)

Job Details


Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in technology business or business development at a business-to-business (B2B) software company.
  • Experience in developing Cloud or Information Technology (IT) solutions.
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently as this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions in Japanese with local stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience promoting infrastructure software, databases, investigative tools, or applications software in the retail industry.
  • Experience in working on commercial and legal agreements with Procurement, Legal, and Business teams.
  • Experience in managing partners in implementation projects, including global system integrators and packaged software vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Build executive relationships with enterprise customers, influence direction, and serve as a business partner.
  • Negotiate and manage entire cycles, presenting to C-level executives in corporate and global customers.
  • Guide account strategy in generating and developing business growth opportunities, work with Customer Engineers, and Google Partners, creating new opportunities.
  • Understand each customer’s technology footprint, growth plans, business motivators, technology strategy, and engaged landscape.
  • Motivate business development, forecast, and achieve goals by leading customers through the entire business cycle.
