The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience in a mid-size company, is proficient in multistate payroll tax withholding, and possesses strong communication skills.

As Payroll Administrator, you will report to the Director, Payroll, who leads a global team of Payroll Administrators. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who is highly proficient in administering payroll for a domestic workforce. This position is responsible for processing our international payrolls while supporting other key payroll functions, all while maintaining a high level of accuracy in daily work product.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Processing monthly and off cycle payrolls for the international employee population, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
  • Completing all tax withholding notices for all federal, state, and local authorities that affect payroll. Ensuring timely resolution of all tax notices; handling the setup and configuration of tax codes in payroll system
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of all garnishment notices including written responses, garnishment deduction setup, and document management
  • Reviewing and auditing the time keeping system for accuracy and preparing files for import into the payroll system
  • Researching payroll issues concerning earnings, deductions, taxes, etc. and effectively communicating the results of that research to employees
  • Ensuring a high level of customer service is provided to both internal and external customers
  • Supporting the development, updating and monitoring of all internal controls to accurately report financial information for the payroll department
  • Partnering with Human Resources, Accounting, Tax, Legal and various other functional areas, to provide data and reports as needed and ensuring responsive resolution of employee payroll issues/inquiries
  • Supporting various initiatives related to payroll including mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, process improvements, financial and regulatory audits, etc.

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of prior relevant payroll experience for a mid-size company
  • Familiarity with multistate payroll tax withholding
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation skills, and relationship management
  • Fluency in written and spoken English

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • CPP
  • Proven experience with UltiPro or UKG
  • Experience with Time & Labor systems
