About Highspot
Highspot is pioneering the category that is fundamentally changing the way companies increase sales productivity. On a mission to transform the way millions of people work with sales enablement, Highspot is committed to building breakthrough software with a spark of magic. We believe a great place to work is about more than the work – it’s about what the company stands for, and how it authentically represents its values in the real world. To this end, we have put intentional focus on creating equitable workspaces for each of our employees. Our goal is to create a culture where everyone feels a deep sense of belonging and is empowered to be an agent of change, with the ability to transform themselves, their workplace, and their world.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Principal Web Engineer to lead Highspot’s web platform team. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting Highspot’s frontend engineering discipline, guiding technology choices, and directly contributing to key initiatives. Our ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in building and maintaining large-scale web applications, along with strong communication skills and a proven ability to guide large organizations through complex, impactful technology changes.

What You'll Do

    • Drive and facilitate key technology decisions for our web platform. The web evolves quickly, and you'll help us discern signal from noise when adapting to developing trends.
    • Contribute to key architectural initiatives to advance our web platform. Whether it's guiding the adoption of a new framework, eliminating a key piece of technical debt, or refining our usage of TypeScript, we want you to take a direct hand in executing and leading mission-critical work for our web platform.
    • Foster the development of our frontend engineering cohort as a whole. Whether selecting training materials or hosting workshops, you'll be responsible for ensuring our frontend engineering team is equipped to do its best work.
    • Regularly review our frontend engineering interview processes to ensure they are both effective and equitable.
    • Partner closely with our UX Platform team to support the seamless integration of our component library (Polar UI) across our web applications and properties.

Your Background

    • You have direct experience building and maintaining large-scale web applications serving millions of users globally, ideally leveraging both React and TypeScript. While most candidates possessing this experience have spent ten or more years working as web engineers, if you believe you meet this requirement, we encourage you to apply!
    • You are not only deeply familiar with core web technologies (HTML, CSS, JS, HTTP), but you are also well-versed in the web platform itself, including concerns like performance, security, and accessibility.
    • You understand how to decompose complex, multi-faceted problems and drive solutions that balance both customer needs and our resources.
    • You are an effective communicator and have a track record of guiding key technology decisions across a large organization.
Base salary range: $167,826 - $252,174
