Job Summary

Job Description

As a Producer, you will lead project teams through the entire show lifecycle, from development to execution. Responsibilities include directing production managers, stage managers, and other team members; managing budgets and schedules; coordinating with directors and clients; and ensuring project goals and client satisfaction are met. You will integrate new experiences into Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts and champion safety and inclusion initiatives. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, along with deep knowledge of theatrical technologies.

This diverse team – representing a wide variety of disciplines and talents from technical directors, writers, and lighting designers to choreographers, cosmetologists, and music producers – brings magical worlds to life through technical expertise, performance excellence, incomparable ingenuity, unparalleled spectacle… and a dash of pixie dust!

As a Producer with Disney Live Entertainment, we lead the project team(s) in the development and execution of creative intent. The Producer coordinates and drives the production process, financial management, design implementation, client interface, and overall delivery of our live entertainment productions.

This is a Full Time role and will report to a Managing Producer.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the team through all aspects of the show life cycle
  • Provide leadership, direction, mentorship, and support to our Production Managers, Production Assistants, Production Stage Managers, Guest Experience Managers, and other production team members on assigned projects
  • Accountable for project goals, milestones, status reports, risk assessment, overall financial targets, and client satisfaction
  • Deliver and integrate new live entertainment experiences into our Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts
  • Partner closely with the show director
  • Constantly seek ways to improve creative vision, drive innovation, and foster immersive storytelling, all while removing obstacles for our entire team
  • Negotiate contracts and make creative/design compromises where needed
  • Communicate project concepts and key information to all levels of leadership and partners
  • Champion our safety, environmental stewardship, inclusion, and other corporate initiatives

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in strong, diversified team leadership in entertainment show production, live event production, and/or technical disciplines
  • Outstanding leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills
  • Proven experience building and working in a collaborative environment
  • Core knowledge and experience with theatrical technologies, i.e. Lighting, Special Effects, Pyrotechnics, Audio, Projection, Set Design, and Construction
  • Proven track record of communicating with multiple partners at various levels, including site, domestic, and global executives
  • Ability to negotiate, coordinate, and provide direction as well as complete multiple tasks on time
  • Champion continuous process improvement
  • Strong business knowledge of budgets and schedules
  • Available and willing to work weekends, holidays, and third shift as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Entertainment Production and Operations in a professional theatrical, theme park, or cruise line environment
  • Willingness to travel on various domestic and international assignments as needed, including Disney Cruise Line
  • Working knowledge of Walt Disney World collective bargaining agreements, including AEA, AFM, IATSE, and Service Trades Union contracts
  • Proficiency in any other language is a plus (Mandarin, French, Japanese, Spanish, etc.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience in entertainment production or related field
