As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will drive high performance by coaching and supporting team members and global accountants. Your role involves monthly financial reviews, forecasting updates, and reporting key findings to stakeholders. You will manage general ledger services, ensure accurate financial records, and drive process improvements. Responsibilities also include reviewing revenue accruals, advising on accounting treatments, supporting audits, and contributing to ESG initiatives. What You'll Do

  • As a key member of the GL Team, to foster a high-performance culture where quality output matters, and provide coaching, training, and backup to other team members, as well as regional and Global financial accountants, and supporting them in meeting deadlines and achieving team goals
  • Monthly review and report actual financial results of balance sheet accounts movements versus forecast with analytical commentary. Identify business drivers, insights, and trends to update future forecasts and assumptions on time
  • Communicate and report material findings to stakeholders for informed decision-making
  • Connect and understand business unit partners and stakeholders. Maintain and build relationships and regular communications
  • Drive general ledger accounting service intake process to facilitate recording and reporting of various financial accounting services
  • Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data, and summarizing financial accounting impact
  • Monitor, communicate, validate, and prepare financial accounting records (including supporting documents and workbook) for respective financial accounts and underlying financial activities in line with Group Accounting policy to ensure proper and timely period-end closing for the group for the activities included in the task list
  • Ensure accounting entries for above-validated activities and financials are recorded in GL, and take ownership of ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data captured in GL
  • Work with Transformation team to drive process improvements through the Finance Department
  • Embraces technology to help drive efficiency and process improvements across the revenue process
  • Review data (findims) for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare and review month-end revenue accruals; revenue variance analysis; month-end highlights
  • Review contracts to advise and implement accounting treatment make recommendations during contract drafting and document significant terms and accounting conclusions
  • Review of any revenue accounting adjustments, for example, write-offs, bundles
  • Ensures accurate and timely preparation of account reconciliations, with a complete understanding of all outstanding balances
  • Calculates revenue recognition impacts for discounting or unique offers to customers on revenue arrangements
  • Advises Commercial Finance stakeholders on accounting impacts of transactions/helps develop solutions to challenges with a key focus on revenue transactions, margin analysis, and revenue recognition
  • Assist with audit requests as required (internal and external)
  • Completing ad hoc regulatory reporting, as required
  • As required, supporting the transition of legacy finance systems to global Aristocrat systems
  • Understanding of customer (internal and external) needs and adaptability to drive and deliver a superior service to key stakeholders
  • Continue to update current process documentation files, and create new files as required
  • Support ESG initiatives including but not limited to Sustainability Reporting (product responsibility, business operations, people & community)

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of accounting experience and previous fixed asset experience is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or its equivalent in a related field
  • Must have experienced knowledge of accounting principles, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
  • Advanced Excel skills are required
  • Worked in an ERP and consolidation tool (IPA is an advantage)
  • Experience with Microsoft D365 is a plus
  • Audit experience (either as an external auditor, internal auditor, or working with auditors) would be an advantage
  • Experience having identified change initiatives to deliver process improvements and efficiency
  • Flexibility to accommodate global time zones to support the global finance team objective
  • Exempt employees are expected to work eight hours per day plus any additional hours necessary to complete their work. This may include extended hours for meetings with Global business partners in other countries. Expected start times for a working day are between 7am PST and 9am PST

Our goal is to pay a market competitive salary focusing near the median of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills, work location, and internal pay equity.
