Job Description

The Senior Accountant role involves coordinating accounting functions, preparing financial reports and cash tax forecasts, assisting with budget preparation, maintaining and reconciling accounts, and assisting with audit preparations. The role also includes preparing tax returns, researching accounting guidance, preparing accounting memos, working with multi-currency entities, performing intercompany reconciliations, contributing to accounting system development, and ensuring compliance with internal SOX requirements. Additionally, the role involves training teammates and performing other accounting duties.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university.
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
  • Advanced financial analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work virtually.
Good to have:

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing company delivering industry-leading solutions to customers in the world’s most dynamic and fastest-growing sector.    

 

  
Performance Objectives  
 
  • Coordinates accounting functions and programs. 
  • Prepares financial analyses and reports. 
  • Prepare cash tax payment forecasts.  
  • Assists with preparing and monitoring budgets. 
  • Maintains and reconciles balance sheet and general ledger accounts. 
  • Assists with annual audit preparations. 
  • Investigates and resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance. 
  • Prepares federal, state, local, and special tax returns; Along with maintenance of tax records in a organized manner.  
  • Technical accounting including but not limited to adoption of new accounting standards, ASC 606, ASC 842 and ability to research accounting guidance.  
  • Ability to prepare accounting memos in accordance GAAP requirements.  
  • Ability to work with multi-currency entities and ability to translate cross-currency payments (i.e. USD payments made to CAD entities/jurisdictions).  
  • Intercompany activity reconciliations and analysis for internal tracking and tax implications.  
  • Contributes to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures. 
  • Ability to work and comply with internal SOX related requirements.  
  • Trains teammates on processes and functions within the department. 
  • Performs other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned. 
 
    
Competitive Candidate Profile 
 
  • Bachelor's degree from a three or four-year college or university
  • 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • CPA, or on CPA track, preferred but not required.
  • Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and  work experience.
  • Works independently with general supervision.
  • Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.
  • May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.
  • Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
  • Advanced financial analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
  • Strong communications skills and ability to work virtually with coworkers around the globe.
