Job Description
As a Senior Data Scientist in the Seller domain at Trendyol, you'll leverage data science to enhance the seller experience on the platform. Your key responsibilities include assessing seller and product quality, offering algorithm-driven recommendations to sellers, and delivering predictive insights across the Seller lifecycle. You'll build, implement, and improve ML models to solve complex business problems, ensuring data-driven decision-making. You'll translate business needs into data-driven solutions and communicate results effectively to cross-functional teams. This role requires strong experience in machine learning modeling, proficiency in Python and SQL, and a passion for data-driven problem-solving.
Must have:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in relevant field
- 3-6 years of experience in machine learning modeling
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- ML pipeline design experience
- Experience in data mining and statistical analysis
- Effective communication skills
- Strong sense of urgency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Data Science department in Trendyol consists of 90+ talented data scientists organized under several domains. Each domain is autonomous and empowered to experiment with new ideas while cross-collaboration is strongly encouraged with horizontal structures.
- As part of the Seller domain, your goal is to enhance business value by leveraging data science to improve the seller experience on the platform. This includes assessing seller and product quality, offering algorithm-driven recommendations to sellers, and delivering predictive insights across the Seller lifecycle.
- Be a data champion in Trendyol who relentlessly advocates for decisions based on data and actions driven by algorithms.
- Build, implement and iteratively improve ML models to solve complex business problems.
- Adopt a holistic mindset and develop comprehensive ML pipeline solutions, incorporating multiple algorithm layers as necessary.
- Execute A/B experiments, reach conclusions statistically and build upon learnings continously.
- Translate business needs into data world, come up with value-adding outputs and communicate the results to cross teams effectively.
- Focus on outcomes ensuring that all model development are aligned with the business objectives and deliver measurable results.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in data science and always come up with innovative ideas to improve processes iteratively.
- Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions
QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferably in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related quantitative field.
- 3-6 years of proven experience in a variety of machine learning modeling techniques (Classification, regression, learning to rank algorithms, clustering, gradient boosting, deep learning etc.)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL is required. ML pipeline design experience is essential.
- Proven experience in data mining and statistical analysis.
- Effective communication skills with a capability of explaining complex data concepts clearly.
- Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and drive tasks to completion to meet the dynamic needs of our fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- E-commerce experience is a big plus.
- The experience range for this position is suitable for specialist/senior specialist roles.
