Impact

The Market Clearing team at Shipt is currently looking for a Senior Engineer! In this role, you will work closely with a talented cross-disciplinary team of Product Managers, Engineers and Data Scientists to get work into the hands of Shipt Shoppers and Drivers. As a member of our team, you will work across several Go microservices backed by Machine Learning models to develop, test, deploy and monitor the impact of your work to our end users.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • You have 5+ Years of Software Development Experience with Go or a similar programming language like Java, C#,  C/C++ or Python.

  • You are able to design, develop, and maintain backend REST API Services with a strong focus on event driven architectures.

  • You are comfortable working with SQL (Postgres) and Redis databases.

  • You strive for production excellence through strong development, testing and monitoring practices.

  • You collaborate well with fellow engineers, data scientists and product partners to deliver value.

  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • You are able to diagnose and solve complex technical problems using data, such as logs, metrics and traces.

  • You are self-driven and outcome oriented - you care about delivering value more than just shipping features.

  • You are passionate about learning and mentoring others.

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader.  Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. Employees will also be eligible to receive discretionary vacation for exempt team members, paid holidays throughout the calendar year and paid sick leave.  Other compensation includes eligibility for an annual bonus and the potential for restricted stock units based on role.

Pay range:

Metro Areas of Boston, District of Columbia, Seattle and New York City: 

$110,421-$220,842

Metro Areas of Los Angeles and San Francisco: 

$115,763.35-$220,842

All other locations:

$92,036-$184,071

Please note that the salary range above is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
