Bit Reactor is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the visual and interactive elements of our games, ensuring an exceptional and seamless user experience that pushes the genre forward.
Responsibilities
UX Design
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including game designers, artists, and developers, to translate gameplay mechanics into engaging and user-friendly experiences.
- Solve complex design problems and find innovative ways to deliver solutions that are user-centered.
- Define the structure, navigation, and flow of content to ensure easy and intuitive user interaction with the game.
- Work with a UXR team to conduct user research and usability testing to refine designs based on player feedback.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices to ensure our games are at the forefront of the gaming experience.
Prototyping and Wireframing
- Create interactive prototypes and wireframes to communicate design concepts and user flows effectively.
- Iterate on design ideas rapidly, considering both user feedback and technical constraints.
Visual Design
- Conceptualize, design, and implement intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces across various gaming platforms.
- Maintain a consistent visual style that adheres to established style guides.
- Collaborate with other art teams to ensure UI elements integrate seamlessly with other assets and fit the overall artistic direction of the game.
Documentation
- Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including UI/UX specifications for developers and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design for games, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful projects.
- Proven track record of designing for various gaming platforms, including PC, console, and mobile.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.
- Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design practices.
- A keen eye for visual aesthetics.
- Experience in motion graphics.
- Experience with Unreal Engine or similar.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and defend design decisions.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Genuine passion for gaming and a deep understanding of different gaming genres.
Bonus
- Familiarity with Star Wars
- Experience working with IP holders
Candidates will be expected to provide a portfolio or demo reel of their work and may be asked to complete an art test.
Bit Reactor prefers to hire candidates who are willing to relocate to Hunt Valley, Maryland, but is open to remote options.
