Software Engineer

We’re hiring a Software Engineer to join a leading video game developer and publisher known for its player-first approach, collaborative environment, and dedication to innovation and inclusivity. This is a 1+ year remote contract opportunity based in Los Angeles, California.

As a Software Engineer on the team, you’ll contribute to the development of tools and services that support fraud detection, data analysis, and live service reliability in a fast-paced, creative gaming environment. You’ll work alongside talented engineers and analysts, helping to improve internal systems and deliver seamless experiences to players across the globe.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Strong expertise in full stack web development

• Deep experience with Elixir and familiarity with Phoenix LiveView

• Skilled in managing and integrating data from API endpoints, GraphQL, MySQL, and NoSQL databases

• Proven ability to debug and resolve issues in live services using logs and metrics

• Experience developing internal tools or applications with a strong focus on intuitive user experience

• Proficient in working with AWS cloud infrastructure

• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining microservices, especially in Golang

• Familiarity with fraud investigation or anomaly detection, ideally from collaboration with analyst teams

• Prior experience in the gaming industry

• Exposure to or support of teams using Livebooks for data analysis

Eligibility for benefits requires working 30+ hours per week on an assignment lasting 10 weeks or more.
