ABOUT THE POSITION
- Collaboration within teams working on projects utilizing daily stand-ups for synchronization of the work
- Participating in tactical planning meetings to fully understand the scope of the day-to-day tasks
Our focus is on networking, UI development, platform solutions, and optimization. This means that based on your specialization your daily tasks could also include:
- Developing backend services to provide functionality for online games and provide game-related data in real-time
- Creating efficient netcode focused on data transfer and game server side of multiplayer games
- Implementing user interface frameworks allowing UX designers to create engaging user experience for the players
- Working on the development of new AAA mobile experiences and porting existing AAA PC games to mobile platforms
- Helping other teams with performance and memory optimizations of their code
- Knowledge of C++/C# (OOP) from university or related at least 1-year work experience
- At least hobby-level experience with Game Engines (Unreal Engine, Unity, or other similar engine)
- Capability and enthusiasm to learn quickly and then use this knowledge
- Passion for the game industry
- English at the communication level
What will your first steps in game development look like:
- First two weeks we’re going to focus on learning the „Virtuos“ way – this means learning the processes such as Stand-ups or Code Review, and you’ll have the chance to test this new knowledge on a small personalised task
- You’ll be assigned a mentor to help you with your start with us and once you’re ready we’ll introduce you to your first project
- Our mentor will help you not only in your first weeks but also in the long run so that you’re not alone and you’ll always have someone to ask for help if needed
- Your mentor will also help you with your development and career progression
