As a Senior MTS, you will be at the forefront of building and enhancing the front-end and back-end web applications. You will leverage your technical expertise to build solutions that empower our customers to effortlessly access and manage credit services. Looking for a full stack engineer with hands-on development experience in front end frameworks who will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful solutions through established software development lifecycle framework.

The GML team (Global Merchant Lending) is part of SMB & Financial Services group within PayPal. The Team owns a variety of Lending Products like PayPal Working Capital, PayPal Business Loan etc. operating in markets across the world. GML products give SMBs, the access to the capital they need, but faster and easier than traditional loans. The impact we have on our customers’ businesses is what drives us to innovate.

Your day to day:

  • Own the design, development and deployment of merchant credit application and services.

  • Participate actively and solution architecture that involve multiple systems. 

  • Identify any product/functionality gaps and collaborate internal product and technology teams to define the necessary development to support solution delivery. 

  • Drive integration efforts and lead critical work streams of strategic initiatives.

  • Drive engineering excellence.

  • Pro-active response in identifying and troubleshooting integration or technical issues. 

  • Drive engineering excellency by creating reusable, production-ready frameworks. 

  • Challenge the status quo when needed. 

  • Ownership and strive for excellence in your role. 

  • Mentor and train new team members, sharing your knowledge and experience to help onboard them onto the team quickly and efficiently, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

What do you need to bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of
    technical education and work experience.

  • 12+ years’ experience building software or web applications with object oriented or functional programming languages. 

  • Expert knowledge in React, Mobile Frameworks, Java, REST 

  • Familiarity with other languages and technologies development like databases, python

  • Experience in various architecture design patterns, design, and implementation of Financial Systems/Platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to scope, create and successfully deploy new strategy/ initiatives / capabilities. 

  • A deep understanding of data structures, object-oriented design, and algorithms.

  • Experience working with large-scale, highly available, and distributed systems.

  • Experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional tests,
    preferably in a Java environment using tools like JUnit, Mockito, or Spring Test.

  • Competent in software engineering tools (e.g. Java build tools) and best practices (e.g. unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, etc.) with experience in using build and deployment tools to streamline and automate the development lifecycle.

  • Experience to interact with engineering teams from multiple geo-locations. 

  • Should have good communication skills. 

  • Expertise in online payments and related domains is a plus
