Job Description

As a Tools Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing tools for game content implementation. You will work closely with the Technical Director and Content Director to set the overall vision for the tools, and collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth integration. Your responsibilities will include analyzing, pitching, prototyping, and developing technical designs for features, systems, and tools. You will also play a key role in streamlining pipelines and workflows for implementing game content. You will have the opportunity to work on an unannounced AAA project and contribute to the studio's success by driving innovation and pushing the boundaries of game development.
Must have:
  • 3+ years experience shipping AAA titles in Tools design roles
  • Ability to communicate design vision and to align vision within the team
  • Experience with versatile game development tools such as Unity, Unreal, or similar proprietary tools
  • Extensive player experience with games, including action, RPG, open world, and online titles
  • Extraordinary self-motivation and initiative, and a positive demeanor in the face of challenges
  • Experienced in developing multiplayer games and understand the functioning of client – server architecture

  • Enjoyment of playing a variety of video game genres and titles

Job Description:

Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Tools Designer, to join the development of a new IP.   
 
Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly-skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining! 


You will join the Technical Design department and work on Tools Design for game content implementation tools. You will also streamline the pipelines and workflows for implementing game content. 


Also, you’ll contribute to take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, integrity, and collaboration.  

You’ll help us by…

  • Partner with the Technical Director and Content Director to set the overall vision and direction for the tools 

  • Work together with other teams on technical solutions, pipelines and tools supporting gameplay and content design implementation.  

  • Take ownership of Tools Design – from ideation to final quality implementation.  

  • Analyze, pitch, prototype, and develop technical design for features, systems and tools for an unannounced AAA project. 

  • Create one-page pitches, tools & pipelines briefs, system outlines, and whatever other communication tools are vital for succinctly and effectively communicating technical design.  

  • Collaborate with multiple fields, ensuring partners are involved and informed throughout development.  

  • Provide regular active feedback across all your features, and across the toolset as a whole.  

  • Remain current on industry trends including new game engines, new tools UX techniques, and trending work excellence.  


You’re awesome because you have…

  • Proven experience (3+ years) shipping AAA titles in Tools design roles.
