The BizOps, Sourcing & Strategy Group is at the heart of the transformation of Global Business Services (GBS) and the broader central functions within Wolters Kluwer. The group provides thought leadership to identify, assess, implement and manage different aspects of a rich pipeline of operational improvements across Wolters Kluwer. The team helps manage the change agenda prioritizing opportunities, analyzing options, engaging with vendors and coordinating with the technology, finance and strategic sourcing groups to execute the different initiatives. The group becomes engaged in all aspects of these initiatives: from opportunity identification and creative brainstorming on options, to business case development, program/project management, oversight, monitoring and communications. The group encompasses various functional areas – Strategic Planning, Operational Excellence, Sourcing & Procurement, Global Event Management, Analytics, Collaboration Services and Enterprise Asset Management
There’s no “typical” day for a member of the BizOps & Strategy team. Depending on the opportunity area being addressed, the activities span - data analyses, interviewing internal and external experts, identifying new opportunities to improve service levels and/or operational costs, leading and participating in brainstorming sessions, operationalizing identified opportunities, creating strategic plans, designing, launching and monitoring pilot projects, and in general helping improve the effectiveness and efficiency of every function/focus area you touch through a hard focus on tangible KPIs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead teams and deliverables across 4 functional areas – Operational Excellence, Advanced Analytics, Cloud Cost Optimization, and Tracking & Reporting function
Manage a live and evolving pipeline of Opportunities to drive operational improvements across the organization
Deploy various methodologies, benchmarks, and analyses to identify new opportunity areas
Continuously drive opportunities through various stages of the pipeline through opportunity assessment, benefit analyses, stakeholder engagement, implementation plan development, and execution
Lead design, planning and implementation of multiple transformative initiatives across Wolters Kluwer
Define and execute against team vision and strategy in partnership with EVP BizOps, Sourcing and Strategy
Train, develop, and motivate highly skilled and extremely demanding team (developing custom plans, paths for success, promotion opportunities, etc.)
Support the growth and advancement of careers of highly motivated individuals (for reference most team members come top management consulting firms, and exit paths for various ex-team members have included top global Business schools, Private Equity, FAANG, and other Fortune 500 companies)
Develop, lead and maintain professional connections and relationships with top executives across different business units, Divisions and functional areas (e.g., finance, P&L GMs, technology, operations etc.) to share progress updates, drive alignment, and deploy joint teams to drive implementation of identified opportunity areas
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors in science, Engineering, Business, Economics or another analytical discipline. Masters in business, or equivalent experience preferred
Experience:
8+ years of experience at a top consulting firm with demonstrated capability in business optimization strategy and execution or equivalent exposure through increasing responsibility roles in corporate strategy in >6B global publicly traded companies OR 5+ years post MBA experience at a top consulting firm with demonstrated capability in business optimization strategy and execution through multiple engagements with >6B revenue global, publicly traded companies
Demonstrable experience influencing business operations optimization strategies at the senior executive/and c level
Strong leadership skills and the aptitude to lead multiple complex operational and strategic initiatives simultaneously
Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with impeccable business judgment across any and all functional areas
Superior ability to present to senior executives and communicate with financial, technical, and other functional management teams
Cross-cultural and multi-geo work experience
Analytical skills to assess, research, interpret and analyze data rapidly
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple enterprise-wide transformations with time sensitive deadlines
Ability to indirectly influence and lead cross business units and cross functional teams
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
Excellent written and verbal communications
Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel required
Advanced data analytics and business intelligence skills
Working knowledge of statistics, databases and analytical tools
Advanced knowledge of Cloud Operations, cloud usage, costs and providers (knowledge of both Azure and AWS platforms required)
Some travel required
